Jon Howells wins at Ledbury Winter Series Rd1

This past weekend Ledbury held the first of its Winter Series races and also the first round to count towards the joint Ledbury/Brookthorpe inter club series. The event was well attended. A mixture of 43 nitro, ebuggy and truggy drivers turned up on an initially foggy Sunday morning. Thankfully, the fog lifted giving the track blue skies and sunshine for the majority of the day. Team Associated driver Jon Howells took TQ, having taken three from four rounds. Tekno driver Jake Knight would line up 2nd with CML driver Lloyd Pitt 3rd. On to the main event, Lloyd Pitt had a great start to take the lead, and maintained that for the first part of the race. Jon Howells then regained control to pull away from Lloyd. Back in third and fourth Jake Knight and Chris Lovell were having a good battle until Jake was taken out by back markers allowing Chris to chase down second. He managed to catch and pass Lloyd with only a couple of laps remaining, so Jon took the win, Chris was 2nd and Lloyd 3rd.

Bezerk 1/10th touring battery hook sets

Available for some of the most popular 1/10th electric touring cars are Bezerk’s new battery hook sets. The battery posts are located as close to the side and centre of the battery as possible to reduce the stress on the upper retaining tab while the 5mm thick battery hooks are beefy enough to take a beating and high enough to keep the battery in its place. The mounting holes are slotted to allow a small amount of left/right adjustment. The 3mm upper tabs look minimal in size but due to their placement are more than up to the task. The kits includes two battery hooks, two battery tabs and two black alloy hex standoffs. Other options include shorter standoffs for very low batteries, standard 17mm and option 15mm, and are also available in silver. The sets are available for the Infinity IF14, Team Associated TC7.2, TC7.1 and TC7 as well as the Xray T4 ’18 and ’17 and also for the Yokomo BD8 and BD7 kits.

Vision Racing introduce new 22 & B6.1 optionals

Coming from Vision Racing are new option parts for the TLR 22 series kits as well as the Team Associated 6.1 buggies and trucks. First up is a carbon fibre motor mount for the TLR 22 4.0 and TLR 22T 4.0. The 3mm carbon fibre motor plate knocks off four grams of weight and a threaded aluminium insert is pressed into place for the one threaded portion of the plate. This eliminates weak treads into carbon fibre. Also new are the CFCS slipper pad sets for the TLR 22 4.0, 22T 4.0 and 22-4 2.0 vehicles as well as Team Associated B6.1 based kits. The plates offer a more consistent slipper action throughout a run as they are more resistant to heat. Each set contains two slipper plates.
