Kyosho Mini-Z MR-03Evo chassis sets

Kyosho have announced the soon release of their new Mini-Z MR-03Evo chassis sets. The Evo kits base on the proven MR-03VE Pro chassis, however the biggest news is the use of a separate receiver unit that allows to utilise a multitude of different brand transmitters such as KO Propo’s EX-2 and EX-RR, Futaba’s 7PX and 7XC as well as Kyosho’s own KT-18, EX-6 or KT-531P to name just a few. The receiver unit is easily interchangeable, sitting on top of the chassis. Other new features include an 11.2-times faster CPU unit for increased steering feeling and a 100-times faster responding ESC unit for best possible throttle control. The ESC is now also adjustable using the I.C.S. manager in order to allow the use of brushed motors with the same speed controller. The Evo chassis are available as wide track W-MM set including a 12000kV brushless motor and also as narrow track N-MM2 variant with a 5600kV brushless motor. Both come equipped with ball bearings and the ball diff set II.

Exotek R-Tek GT 190mm body shell

Coming from Exotek is the new R-Tek GT 190mm body shell for USGT and GT classes. The shell was designed with an aggressive splitter, muscular fenders, low slung hood, downforce inducing side skirts and a sports car cockpit for the most aggressive aero package with minimal drag. The body has two trim lines marked on the bottom; one for low profile shock towers and the 2nd mark for extra low body mounting on cars such as the Awesomatix A800. Also the wing has two trim lines; one 10mm USGT legal trim line and the second is a 20mm trim line similar to sedan wings for extra downforce. Details such as rearward mounted wing for scale looks actually increases downforce while reducing drag and the body was designed with ample tyre clearance in the wheel wells to mount the body low without rubbing the tyres. Specially shaped splitter provides steering while being durable thanks to the modified angles and raised wing pedestals places the wing higher up into cleaner air. The body is made from 0.7mm premium polycarbonate for improved durability compared to other similar thickness polycarbonate. Included come steel wing mounting hardware, window masks and a detailed sticker sheet.

CJ Jelin TQs & wins at Fall Brawl

The 2018 Fall Brawl was held at AMain’s Silver Dollar RC Raceway in Chico, California. The race had 77 entries and in the 1/8th Nitro Buggy class it was Xray’s CJ Jelin who took the overall TQ courtesy of winning Q2 and Q3. Before the A-main CJ had to sit down and readjust his buggy’s engine as he was loosing mileage through the day. As the main was mixed with E-buggies the organisers decided to go with nine minutes runtime. CJ had the lead for the first couple of minutes until he had went wide and Mason Eppley (Tekno) passed him. Now Mason was in 1st and CJ had pit that lap to, so there was a big gap. Mason crashed on one of the back jumps and CJ was back on him and he still had to pit. From that moment on CJ drove clean for the rest of the race to take the win in Pro Nitro Buggy with Mason Eppley 2nd and Xray’s Evan Carton 3rd.
