Dodson & Fera win at Speedworld Raceway club race

Speedworld Raceway of Roseville, California held a club race this past weekend. Saturday would see open practice with the whole race taking place on Sunday. The track was nicely prepped with soda water, making for high traction the while day. In Touring 17.5T Stock it was Chris Dodson with the win from a chasing Alex Fera who qualified 4th but managed to find some more speed in the final. Behind the two teammates, Joe Huynh would round out the podium. Over in the Formula class it was Alex Fera who started from 2nd but was able to take profit of a DNF of the leading driver whose car’s spur gear got smashed.

Michal Orlowski sweeps Dart Cup Rd6

The sixth and final round of the popular Schumacher Dart Cup 1:10 off-road series was held this past weekend at the Astroturf RC Track in Serock, Poland. Mother nature presented some unusual conditions for the drivers. The race started in hot summer weather with temperatures in the high 20°C range on Friday while on Saturday morning temperature dropped more than 10 degree Celsius and was only around 13°C. On midday the rain started and the rainy, windy autumn weather continued until the end of the race. What followed was a never ending search for the best tyres and setup for the changing track conditions.

Leonardo Valente joins SWorkz

SWorkz have announced the signing of Italy’s Leonardo Valente to their factory team. One of the country’s frontrunners, Leonardo will campaign SWorkz’s S35-3 nitro and S35-3E electric buggy kits at national and international events and he already set a first mark by winning the E-Buggy class at the recent Reds GP. Leonardo had the following to say about the deal:

When testing SWorkz cars, I immediately felt familiar with the cars. Easy driving but also top speed made my decision easy to race for the brand in the coming years.

Turner & Arredondo win at JBRL Electric series Rd7

Round 7 of the Jimmy Babcock Racing League Electric Off-road Series was held at Controlled Chaos Raceway in Palmdale, California last Saturday. 2WD Open Buggy had Cody Turner (Team Associated) taking the day’s win from Kyosho’s Caetano McNeill on the runner-up spot and Team Associated’s Nick Miller, who would round out the top 3 results.

Jackson Andres takes double NCT titles

The sixth and final round of the Northwest Championship Tour was held in Yakima, Washington. In the 4WD Open Buggy class Yokomo’s Jackson Andres was trying to go 6 for 6 for the NCT. He was able to TQ and take A1 and A2 for the win, taking the 4WD Championship for the series. Tekno’s Jesse Munn ended round 6 on the 2 spot from Derek Rasheed (Tekno) on the 3 spot.

Speed King Tour Rd5 – Report

The fifth round of the 2018 Speed King Tour was held at the Twin Ring Honguu outdoor asphalt track in the Aichi prefecture this past weekend. Classes held would be Touring Modified, Touring Stock and Oval. After a two month break the race attracted a lot of racers from all over Japan and the race format was as usual with triple qualifiers and a Super Lap session for the top 5 driver to determine the overall top qualifier. Destiny driver and round 4 winner Yugo Nagashima took the Modified class TQ after the three regular qualifiers and he also clocked the fastest run in the Super Lap race. Yokomo driver Ryosuke Yamamoto came on P2, while Infinity’s Akio Sobue took P3 on the grid.

International German Pro10 Championship – Report

The 29th German Pro10 Championships were held at the EVMC Velp club in The Netherlands this past weekend. The race was held in Modified and Sports classes and it was not only open to German drivers but also for entries from surrounding countries, making it an international event. The weather forecast for the weekend was mixed with only the practice runs and the first qualifier being held on a dry track. The opening Modified class qualifier was lead by Tim Altmann from Reinder Wilms and Tobias Weist while the Sports class saw reigning champion Andreas Dick, newcomer Dirk Elsebusch and local hero Mathijs Hermens on the top spots.

Team Associated Reflex 14T & 14B RTR

Team Associated have introduced their new Reflex 14T and 14B ready-to-run off-road vehicles. Both come out of the box already assembled, with a Reedy Power brushless speed control, brushless motor, high-torque digital steering servo, and 2.4GHz radio system. The adjustability offered by the turnbuckles, caster blocks, and rear hubs allow to adapt the suspension setup to various surface conditions. Additional features include three sealed differentials, aluminium steering rack, and lightweight aluminium centre driveshaft. The 14T comes with a pre-decorated truggy body shell while the 14B features a sleek buggy body. Both will hit stores in October.
