Vigor ARC R11 shock towers

New from Vigor are these 3.0mm thick lowered shock towers for the ARC R11. The new towers are made from thinner 3mm carbon fibre, compared to the standard 3.5mm material, for increased torsional flex and so improved traction on lower bite surfaces. The front tower has been lowered by 1.0mm and and rear by 2.5mm which they claim gives the car more grip and better response. Works with the original plastic short shock ends, all parts are a direct fit.

Arrowmax kingpin & steering block tool

New in Arrowmax’s honeycomb line of tools is this kingpin & steering block tool. It could perfectly align the kingpin threads in composite steering blocks. The new tool has a specially designed tip with an M3 thread on the upper end while the plain lower part slides into the steering block’s lower kingpin hole, ensuring the thread is cut at a perfect angle. By rotating the steering block the opposite thread can be cut. On top of having the two holes aligned, which will eliminate unwanted misalignment and friction, the tapping will also ensure easier assembly of the steering knuckle and C-hub area.

Elliott Harper joins Xray Factory Team

Xray have announced that multi-time UK national champion Elliott Harper is joining their Factory Team to race the Xray T4 platform. Elliott leaves Schumacher after 3 plus years to return to a team for whom he raced with at the start of his career when he burst onto the international racing scene, making the final on his Worlds debut in Bangkok in 2008. He had the following to say about the deal.

I am very excited to rejoin the Xray factory team. Xray was the very first team I started to race professionally with almost 10 years ago, with great successes winning multiple European Junior Championships with the 1/10 Touring Car and 1/12. After collecting experiences with other teams in the last few years I am excited to be back “home” with the Xray team and I am honoured to represent them again. I am thankful for this opportunity and I’m confident that I will continue to grow and achieve the best possible results at the highest level, whilst working closely with all Xray drivers. I look forward to seeing you all at the track very soon!

Tessmann & Rivkin win at 2018 Surf City Classic

The world famous OCRC in Huntington Beach, CA was the location for the Proline Surf City Classic this past weekend and with Xray driver Ty Tessmann in attendance, he sent us this report. ‘Once again they outdid themselves with another awesome, challenging layout and a smoothly run race. The track is very well prepped and maintained and the whole facility is top notch. It is a well known fact that after a new layout is put in, the track starts out low bite but will continue to increase in grip throughout the weekend, so to be fast your car setup has to be changing constantly to keep up with the changing condition. Tire prep is also a big factor at this race, to adjust for the changing grip level. All this combined, makes for a very challenging and competitive race. As usual all the top drivers from the US were at this race and with one of Europe’s shining stars added into the mix made for a very competitive field.
