AustrianRd3-1

The 3rd round of the Austrian Nationals were held on the high-speed full concrete track of the ERT Steyregg. Only because of the unique surface were racers able to practise on Saturday even if it was raining most of the day. On Sunday the weather was a lot better and the track was dry the whole day. Hupo Honigl took the TQ spot in 2wd ahead of Peter Pinisch with Team C team mate Martin Kreil in 3rd. 4wd qualifying was even better for Team C with Hupo taking the TQ with Martin in 2nd and Marcus Prihoda in 3rd. The mains had some good battles and in the end Hupo would win 2wd in front of Martin and in the reverse order for 4wd. With this result Honigl was able to secure the overall National Championship in both classes with one race to spare.

Drew Moller double at Mugen Seiki GP series Rd2

This past weekend saw round two of the Mugen Seiki Grand Prix series held at Heritage R/C Park. It was a pretty laid back weekend with a total of 60 entries. Both classes, buggy and truggy, saw Mugen racer Drew Moller take the TQ spot. In Buggy Drew had a good early battle with fellow Mugen racer Carson Wernimont but after some motor issues for Carson he was able to edge his team mate out for the win. In the Truggy Main it was an easy victory for Moller, after getting the holeshot he never looked back.

JConcepts RC10B5 & B5M Honeycomb motor plates

JConcepts RC10B5 & B5M Honeycomb motor plates

JConcepts have released these replacement motor plates for the popular RC10B5 and RC10B5M vehicles. Looking at the typical construction of the second operation processes on standard motor plates, it easy to see why bending is sometimes an issue. The design team at JC have incorporated a honeycomb milling affect with placement more suited to surrounding geometry making the plate lightweight and very rigid in multiple directions. The honeycomb features add a 3D look especially as they remain natural aluminium while the rest is available black or blue in color. Slight chamfering on the 3mm thickness material allows the rather beefy plate to look quite skinny.

Infinity by X-Factory B5M chassis

Infinity by X-Factory B5M chassis

X-Factory introduce their new Infinity by X-Factory line, a line of hop-ups for other car brands. The first release is a new carbon fibre chassis for the Associated B5M and the line will be expanded soon to include shock towers, new steering systems and other products that take your car to the next level. This new chassis gives the B5M lots more flex and tunability with drivers reporting much better cornering and increased forward bite on all surfaces. Rough tracks require more flex, so loosen some or all of the side deck screws on the Infinity chassis. The forward screws affect front flex, while the rear ones work on the back end. The kit comes complete with the CF chassis, all the other CF parts, aluminium stand-offs, hardware, and instructions.
