Tekno RC 46 & 47T Spur Gears

Tekno RC has released new 46 & 47 tooth steel spur gears for their NB48 and NT48 2.X 1:8 Offroad chassis.  The new spur gears provides taller gearing which increases overall top speed while reducing potential wheel spin.  Less wheel spin improves grip and can enhance mileage in certain conditions.  They are CNC machined from high grade steel, black oxide coated and have the same design and Tekno RC durability as the stock spur gear.

Schumacher CAT L1R and Cougar LD2 Option Parts

Schumacher has released two new Option Parts for their popular CAT L1R and Cougar LD2 1:10 Buggies.  First of the new new parts is the C/F wider rear link mount which has been used by the team to add roll stiffness but in a different way to the usual.  It has allowed the car to use a softer spring and a longer camber link position on the hub carrier.  The team has found that this will keep the car flatter in the turn.  It has 2 widths, the widest being for carpet as it is the most aggressive on initial steering and then the narrow setting for astro.  The second option part is a Shock Mount Spacer Set allows you to reposition the front shock tower on the Cougar LD2 and mount the shocks behind it.
While changing the flex the team have found this has made the car more forgiving on difficult tracks.

JConcepts Stadium truck/SCT sidewall support

JConcepts have developed a new option for tire sidewall support with the release of their inner sidewall support adaptors for Stadium Truck and Short Course Truck use. During high traction or loaded conditions, tire sidewall deflection causes oversteer and inconsistency with driving performance. By adding the inner sidewall support adaptor and gluing it into place, the sidewall effectively becomes much harder and allows a driver to enter smoother arcs and radius turns on the racetrack. Already used in competition, the sidewall support pieces have shown to work on glued, sealed, or naturally grippy surfaces where traction rolling or oversteer is an issue. In addition, when conditions are rough, bumpy, or dusty, the additional support drives smoother and with more consistency.

MIBO Carbon handle Allen Wrenches

Adding to its range of products, MIBO has released a new range of hex wrenches.  Featuring a light carbon handle and very hard tip with an all black handle and tip finish, the wrench size is marked on the aluminium insert of the handle.  The MIBO Allen Wrench is designed with the needs of RC racing enthusiasts in mind.  It’s lightweight carbon design makes it easy to carry in your pit box or toolbox. Thanks to sufficient dimensions and a solid surface it’s also comfortable during extensive use.  The tip material was custom-made and thoroughly tested to find an optimal balance of hardness.  The hex edges are highly resilient from stripping, so if you want a tip, that survives occasional bolt head strips without any harm, this one is for you. And while it’s not advised to use it as a lever, it’s still not overly easy to snap.

Phend & Maifield lift ’23 ROAR Fuel National titles

Dakotah Phend and Ryan Maifield lifted this year’s ROAR 1:8 Fuel Offroad National titles, Phend successfully defending his Buggy crown but hitting late issues that denied a repeat of the TLR driver’s 2022 double Tekno’s Maifield would take the Truggy win.  Hosted by AMain Hobbies’ Silver Dollar RC Raceway in Chico, California, qualifying saw Phend secure the overall TQ honours for both categories.  In Buggy it was Xray’s Ty Tessmann who was his closest challenger as the only other driver to register a TQ run in the four rounds.  Truggy saw Seth Vandalen secure P2 after coming out top of a three way tie-breaker with Spencer Rivkin (P3) and Jared Tebo (P4).  With the 45-minute Truggy Main up first, Phend was on target to retain his title but clutch issues in the final two laps dropped him to third allowing 5th place qualifier Maifield, who mounted a challenge for the lead earlier in the race, to come through to lift his 7th National Truggy Championship 4.7-seconds ahead of Tebo.  After the disappointment of Truggy, Phend was able to convert his qualifying form into victory winning the 1-hour encounter from Maifield with the Team Associated of Rivkin completing the podium.  In the 1:8 Buggy Junior Final Team Associated’s Jonah Wilson took the win from Top Qualifier Andrew Beauchamp with Phi Long Nguyen third.

Avid D8 Worlds Spec Carbon & G10 Arm Inserts

New from Avid Racing are these Carbon & G10 Arm Inserts for the HB Racing’s D8 Worlds Spec 1:8 Buggy.  The 1.5mm Carbon Arm Inserts for the front offer your buggy another great tuning feature by reducing the flex and twist in the arm.  Because the arm is now symmetrical (left and right arm are the same), it has two locations for an arm insert (top & bottom) and the arms do not come with plastic covers anymore.  Avid Racing recommend running the carbon insert on the top of the arm and their G10 insert on the bottom to keep the dirt out of the arm while not making the arm too stiff.
