Yokomo B-Max4 III – First images

US Yokomo distributors A Main Hobbies just released first images on the upcoming B-Max4 III 4WD buggy. The updated kit will feature a topdeck-less aluminium chassis instead of a plastic tub chassis as used on the previous model. The drive train and slipper are also redesigned, the servo mount appears to be of a floating design as seen on electric touring cars these days and the kit will include carbon fibre shock towers, 12mm wheel hex adapters and a reduced amount of fasteners to make for a reduced all-up weight. JConcepts TLR 22 motor plate & Scalpel shock limiters

After introducing the honeycomb design aluminium motor plate for Team Associated B4 based vehicles JConcepts now have the respective plate for TLR 22 based buggies and trucks available. Also new is a big bore shock limiter set for the Scalpel conversion kit. Starting with the motor plate, the part is machined from tough 3mm aluminium and features honeycomb shaped milled-out sections to reduce weight and in order to increase the surface for better cooling of highly stressed motors. The special design promises improved rigidity over conventional ‘slotted’ designs while keeping the weight as low as possible. The motor plate is available in blue and black colour and a direct replacement for the stock part.

Arrowmax silicone shock oils

Arrowmax have a new line of shock fluids available. The silicone-based fluids come in grades of 100cst to 900cst with fine 25cst increments for the 250cst to 600cst oils and are sold in 59ml and 110ml bottles that sport an easy to use non-dripping cap.

FEMCA 1/10th EP off-road champs – Announcement

After the recent FEMCA 1/8th off-road and electric touring car championships the next important evened of the Far East Model Car Associated is around the corner. The 2013 1/10th electric off-road championships will take place from the 25th to 27th of October in Taichung City, Taiwan. The race will see 2WD and 4WD Buggy races as well as a 4WD Short Course class and the event is run on a purpose built track. Magnus Björndal wins Northern Swedish Cup Rd5

After several weeks of preparation and many late nights Skellefteå-MS was ready to host the fifth round of the Northern Swedish Cup for 1/8th off-road buggies. In the the 45 minute A final that also saw two junior drivers competing, Victor Öhrvall and Emil Edlund, Patrik Bodén looked like a potential winner, but after several problems he had to retire. Magnus Björndal showed no mercy and took home the win with no problems in front of Bjorn Engman and Ulf Stenvall. The best Junior, Victor Öhrvall who finished in sixth place was followed closely by the next junior, Emil Edlund.

JConcepts AE 2WD aluminium motor mount

JConcepts introduce the aluminium honeycomb motor mount for Team Associated’s B4, T4 and SC10 line of off-road vehicles. Machined from 3mm high quality aluminium the design of the motor plate improves overall rigidity over conventional ‘slotted’ designs as the honeycomb sections holes offer more stability in multiple directions while reducing weight at the same time. Chamfered edges let the beefy plate look more skinny than it is. The plate is a direct replacement and available in blue and black colour.

RB One R V2 upgrade set

After introducing the new RB One R V2 buggy French-based company RB now also have a V2 upgrade kit for existing One R vehicles available. The set contains a redesigned aluminium main chassis with ‘flat’ rear end, a corresponding rear gear box, V2 shock tower and updated rear aluminium suspension mounts for the use with toe and anti-squat inserts. Also included in the set is a 115mm CVD dogbone and a new rear anti-roll bar. Included with the upgrade kit come three hard material differential cases and cross pins. The RF and RR V2 aluminium suspension mounts are also available as separate items.

Kyosho aluminium servo arm

Kyosho now have new aluminium servo arms for 1/8th off-road vehicles available. Designed to replace the standard plastic kit arms with a more durable solution the CNC-machined and gun metal coloured offerings sport the Kyosho logo and an additional screw to clamp the servo horn against the servo’s output gear. The servo arm is available as Futaba and Sanwa/KO compatible variant.
