Olly Jefferies wins Carpet Wars World Cup

Last weekend saw the running of the Carpet Wars World Cup, a 2 day event that saw International interest with Marc Fisher making the trip from Germany for the race. After Saturdays qualifying it was Kevin Brunsden on pole but a quick run in the final qualifying heat on Sunday saw Olly Jefferies take the top spot by 0.6 of a second. Olly Jefferies wins Carpet Wars Series

The 5th round of the Carpet Wars series was held last weekend with title leader Olly Jefferies only needing a 3rd in this round to confirm his second title in recent weeks, having clinched the Rug Racers modified title 2 weeks ago. In qualifying it was Andy Childs that put in a good run in the final round of qualifying to pip Jefferies to the pole position, while lining up 3rd was Kevin Brunsden. Elliot Harper wins Carpet Wars Rd4

Xray have a report on their site from team driver Elliot Harper on the 4th round of the Carpet Wars series that took place at the Black Lion Centre in Gillingham, Kent. The format was 4 qualifiers and one final and after the initial qualifier it was Elliot who was quickest, slipping back to 4th in the second and up to 3rd again after the third qualifier. Jeff Cuffs signs to Serpent

Former Snowbirds winner and top US electric racer Jeff Cuffs has signed to Serpent Motorsport to race their new electric touring car. According to the mention on RC Tech, Jeff has already had his first race with the as yet unreleased, and unnamed, Serpent electric touring car at last weekends Carpet Wars in the US and apart from that, little else is known about the deal pending an official release from the Dutch manufacturer. Videos from the 2006/07 Carpet Wars now online

[youtube]vjzT4rk7dRs[/youtube] We’ve been covering the Carpet Wars through the reports posted on the sites of Helger Racing and CML distribution and it looks like a great, and very popular, indoor Winter Series. Well now thanks to RC Tech member Skiddins, who was at the event with his video camera, we can now watch some of the action from the 4th round of the Championship. Andy Moore wins Carpet Wars World Cup

World Champion Andy Moore has won this years Carpet Wars 2 Day World Cup, formerly known as the Vega Cup, held at the Black Lion Leisure complex in Gillingham. Andy managed to put his HB Cyclone on the pole position after qualifying, followed closely by Yokomo racer Chris Grainger who had struggled on this track previously, but managed to pull it together for the big event.
