JConcepts Siren LP & Pin Swag 2.2″ tyres

JConcepts has introduced two new tyres for carpet and astroturf 1:10 Offroad, the Siren rear tyre and the front Pin Swag 2WD tyre. The Siren, shares styling cues from its successful racing sibling, the Nessi.  Racing on artificial surfaces require a lot of stability and forward-bite and the JConcepts design team went to work to substantially improve performance for deep nested turf or carpet surfaces.  The new tyre brings a new larger and taller sized 3D blended pin-size, pin-separation, and a lightweight and incredibly low-profile carcass.  The Pin Swag combines the outer lugs of a JConcepts Swagger front tire with the dense arrangement of specialty pins.  Now optimised as a 2WD front tyre, the pins themselves are round and crisp to the top where they climax to a point.  Near the sidewall, the Swag enters with a smooth transition and drops off to a ledge giving steering control.

Tekno RC announce Tebo departure

Tekno RC has announced the departure of Jared Tebo from its factory team.  The move was much anticipated when the American offroad manufacturer announced the signing of Ryan Maifield last month.  Tebo joined Tekno four years ago after being the main face of Kyosho for many years and put the smaller brand into the mainstream with plenty of successes in that time, most notably the 2019 Reedy Race of Champions.  Making his own follow up announcement on social media thanking Tekno for ‘the journey’, Tebo revealed the announcement came sooner than planned adding he had hoped to retire with the brand.  As yet no announcement has been made on his future plans but he did clarify he will continue his racing career in 2023.  Announcing his departure, Tekno said, ‘The end of the year is almost here and with it brings a change to our team. Jared Tebo will no longer be representing Tekno RC after 2022. We’ve had four excellent and memorable years with Jared.  We enjoyed learning and improving together as well as celebrating some big wins. Piloting his various Tekno RC vehicles, he reached the top step of the podium 17 times at major events across the country. Add another 28 major event podium finishes along with a decent stint as the #1 driver in the world according to Top25.com, it becomes apparent that his time at Tekno RC has been very successful. We would like to thank Jared for all of his positive contributions to Tekno RC, on and off the track. We wish him the best in the next chapter. Thanks, Jared!!!’

JConcepts Landmines and Tusk tyres for SCX24

More new 1:24 tyres from JConcepts with the release of the Landmines and Tusk for Axial’s SCX24 Rock Crawler.  The JConcepts designers have opened up their imagination to create an all-new 1.0” performance scale tire. The Landmines, developed for 1:24 scale trucks after tuning and analysis have reached the summit and now available to the crawling enthusiast. The team spent considerable time with the split-block centre design which has been sliced, stepped, and recessed for flexibility and contortion over sharp, loose, and polished surfaces. After successful tyres such as the Landmines, the team also focused on a new design with information learned by driving, crawling, and important input from a lots of development time by the JConcepts team leading to the Tusk tyre. They used a 2.0” sizing making it a very high-performance and scale-based tire, but the tread layout went under the scope for changes. Featuring hefty lugs and sidewall support, the centre of the tyre starts with a V-shaped lug with multiple steps to the sides for additional grip while the gold compound rubber flexes and contours to the landscape. Both tyres are also available on JConcepts Hazard or Glide 5 SCX24 fit wheels.

RC Maker A800 Carbon Short Wheelbase Arms

RC Maker has release brand new short wheelbase arms for the Awesomatix A800MMX & A800FX. Available in 7, 8 or 9mm options, the CNC machined carbon arms were first developed over a year ago, and through several profile tests after feedback from numerous team drivers around the world, the Australian company has now settled on the final design.  The arms feature a larger profile than the kit arms to increase the rigidity of the arm.  They also feature a carbon rib which further increases the stiffness of the arm at the point of shock attachment. This creates less twisting of the arm and reduces unwanted inputs into the shock absorbers due to arm flex. In our testing these arms increased corner speed by reducing the flex and grip the arm was generating, which made the car more free in the corner.

JConcepts 1:24 Monster Truck tires & wheels

JConcepts has introduced two new tyres as well as three colour options of wheels for 1:24 Monster Truck use.  The Golden Years tyre allows RC builders to emulate and finish off their MT as an early-era replica. The chevron pattern might look run of the mill, however a lot of work has been placed into the tyre to allow the trucks to grip surfaces ranging from carpet, Astroturf and, of course, dirt.  The Renegades tyre represents the low-profile carcass and cut-tread movement, capable of winning results straight out of the package.  Its chevron style lugs have been created with specially designed back-cut tread and shaved carcass areas imitating the real thing.   The Tribute mini monster truck wheel packs an assortment of options in to a design and style that mimics the golden age of Monster Truck racing. Available in black, grey or white, they incorporate a cylindrical wheel that has a stepped portion for authenticity and inner ribbing surrounding the hex for compatibility and strength.  While the 1:24 monster trucks begin to take-off and build within the industry, the 7mm hex is the standard on vehicles such as the Axial SCX24 platform. The wheels include open and closed planetary caps which attach with micro style screws.
