JConcepts XB4 F2 buggy body shell

Coming from JConcepts is the new F2 body shell for the Xray XB4 2017 4WD buggy. Designed with aspects learned from the original Finnisher bodies, the F2 provides an even more aggressive look with included details which remain crucial to performance. An increased windshield angle provides a steady force upfront during mid-flight wind gusts on large jumps while the forward cab placement changes performance and visible bias which help steering rotation in low traction corners. The side-pods have been simplified and JC chamfered to remove unwanted changes in height to neutralise the at-speed handling. The rear of the pods have a dual step, scoop treatment which give a first in class look to the F2 body. The rear of the cab has the Finnisher step feature which allows the placement of a secondary side window and also several louver options off the rear. In addition to the newly designed body, JConcepts has included two of the latest Aero rear wings.

Tomas Kapicka wins Czech Open Masters Rd7

Round 7 of the Czech Open Masters series was held in Kolin last weekend. In the Nitro Buggy class Xray’s Max Gotzl seemed to be in control of things as the took the overall TQ in front of Frantisek Kalenda (Serpent) and Jiri Benes (Xray). Max would also set the pace on the A-main, however technical issues would cost him the win and the race was on between Kyosho’s Tomas Kapicka and local hero Jiri Benes. Unfortunately for Jiri his buggy’s engine stalled during a pit stop and he would drop to 4th which allowed Tomas to bring home the win from Vladimir Pour (Xray) in 2nd and Martin Zicha (Mugen) 3rd.

Thanks to Honza Kapicka for the report.

Marcel Schneider takes 1/10th 2WD Off-Road Nats title

The 2017 German 1/10th Electric 2WD Nationals were held at the MAC Hütschenhausen track recently. The first ever nationals on this full astro turf track held some difficulties for the drivers as the large and fast layout with multiple high speed single double and quad jumps made it hard to manage error-free runs. In addition the weather was very changing and with short showers especially on Saturday for the fastest heat, it made qualifying very difficult. In the 2WD Modified class it was veteran Schumacher racer Ralf Missel with the overall TQ from young Marcel Schneider who put his R Stonem converted Team C TM2V2 on the 2 spot from free agent, Jörn Neumann in 3rd.
