Buschor & Hofer successful at GP Arbon

The Swiss GP Arbon race was recently held on a nice but very low-grip carpet track. In the 4WD class Michel Buschor took the TQ from Mario di Bella in second and Osi Oswald in third. In the finals Michel continued to dominate, taking three wins and with it the overall victory from Mario di Bella and Kevon Prinz for an all-Xray podium sweep. In the 2WD buggy class Patrick Hofer (Team Associated) was unbeatable, taking the overall win from Mario di Bella (Yokomo) in second and Mathias Domig (Xray) third.

Xray 1/10th off-road 3 dots/1 stripe linear springs

Coming from Xray are the new 3 dots/1 stripe linear springs for the XB4, XB2 and XT2 1/10th scale off-road kits. Individually measured, controlled, inspected and matched the springs will offer maximum precision and in terms of hardness they are softer than the standard 1 dot linear springs. They also come marked for easy identificaton and they are sold as pairs for the front and rear.

Xray Racing Series Germany Rd2 – Report

The second round of the XRS Germany was held in Augsburg and it saw a total of 58 drivers battle it out in the four classes of Touring Modified, Touring 13.5T Stock, Formula and 1/12th scale. The club laid out a nice 400 square metre track using ETS carpet that made for high traction and fun races. Racing-wise and in the 1/12th scale class it was young Antonio Theofilou to take TQ but after the final Bernd Wiesenberger held the upper hand to bring home the day’s win from Antonio and Christian.

Xpress Xpresso M1 M-type RWD chassis kit

Coming from Xpress is the Xpresso M1 M-type 2WD rear wheel drive kit. Sporting “M-Chassis” dimensions the race-oriented kit features a full carbon fibre double deck construction, carbon fibre A-arms, adjustable upper links, a touring car sized rear gear differential and a belt-driven transmission. A centred and front-mounted steering servo makes for massive steering throw and a reactive toe rear suspension system ensures a nimble handling and exceptional traction and side-bite. The car is usable with shorty or standard-size LiPo battery packs that can be mounted in a front or rearward position. The car is compatible with all 210mm M-Chassis bodyshells.

Schumacher CAT XLS 1/10th 4WD buggy re-release

Schumacher have released first information on the forthcoming re-release of the 1986 CAT XLS 1/10th scale 4WD buggy. The Schumacher CAT revolutionised off-road racing when it was introduced in 1986, and it became an international success winning British, European, Japanese, Australian, and American championships. It was later updated with a longer wheelbase and in the hands of a certain Masami Hirosaka it won the 1987 1/10th 4WD IFMAR World Championships in Romsey, England. The 2017 kit is a replica of the buggy that won Masami his first in many Worlds titles and it features the Cecil Schumacher invented ball differentials, a unique integrator system offers adjustable torque split between front and rear, and a double wishbone suspension makes for massive (1987-ish) suspension travel. Also included in the re-release kit will be alloy coil over oil filled shock absorbers.

CEN Racing Colossus XT RTR electric monster truck

US CEN Racing distributors HRP have introduced the US-exclusive Colossus XT mega monster truck. Based off of the Reeper monster truck but with a different name and colour scheme the Colossus sports a massive footprint of 750x480mm and it weighs in at 7kg. A dual vertical plate chassis frame and a heavy duty drivetrain with oversized driveshafts make for enormous strength that is needed to tame the 1450kv brushless motor that is coupled to a 150A Hobbywing speed controller. The truck is powered by dual 2S LiPo battery packs although a dual 3S setup is possible without reliability issues. 25mm diameter shock absorbers soak up imperfections in the terrain and genuine Savöx steering servo helps to get the massive truck on track. The kit is rounded out by a 3-channel 2.4GHz radio system.

5th Hungarian Serpent S411 Endurance Race – Report

The 5th Hungarian Serpent S411 Endurace Race was held at the Sportolda sportshall in Pecs, Hungary with a a total of five teams battling for the win. The race was held in a unique format of six 50-minute stints with 15-minute breaks in-between. At halftime the teams also had an official lunchbreak with the cars sitting in the parc ferme. Before the race the identically prepared Serpent S411 RTR cars were given to the racers that were allowed to use their own batteries and radios. In the end team All Stars would take the win with 1712 laps from team Elza es Tarsai (1642 laps) and team Peströ gyuttunk (1639 laps). In total more than 8100 laps or 611km were completed by the teams.

Avid Triad M4 lightweight wheel nuts gold

Coming from Avid are gold-anodised Triad M4 wheel nuts. Being of Avid’s unique Triad 3-corners design they are usable with a standard 7mm wrench and they are anodised with a unique process that makes them reflective to resemble gold plating. Each nut weighs in at 0.3g and a serrated back section allows for secure wheel tightening. The M4 nuts fit all modern 1/10th on-road and off-road vehicles and they come in sets of four.
