The 3rd round of the Scotty Ernst Offroad Showdown made its way to Sparks Park R/C Raceway in Columbus, Ohio, this past weekend and it was a weekend to remember. As usual the Offroad Showdown is unlike any other race in the United States as it features a high level of competitive racing, but also embodies something unique that other races are presently lacking and have slowly lost over the years. The Offroad Showdowns seems to always have a certain positive vibe wherever it goes and this is mainly due to the fact when you attend a Scotty Ernst event you immediately feel like family. JConcepts B6 series Aero front wings

JConcepts B6 series Aero front wings

Coming from JConcepts and made for Team Associated’s 6th generation buggies are a total of four front wing options. Mounted above the front shock tower on the B6 series of vehicles, the Aero front wing mounts in clean air and is quite easy to trim, use and test without sacrificing all important track time. Available in two widths, the driver can choose either the narrow for a lighter feel or wide for heavier down force. The Aero wing features a high-attack design with trim-able rear gurney options and a radical, edgy design which functions and compliments the Finnisher and Silencer body design. Cut lines are included for easy trimming while triple wing mount dimples are included for a bolt-on fit. The leading centre section of the wing has been formed into a unique V-shape to perfectly outline the front shock tower geometry. The wings are available for the flat and gullwing front shocktowers, making it four options to choose from.

mon_redaelli2

With a noticeable rise in track temperature due to the midday sun meaning little chance of the days opening practice times been beaten, the 9th & 10th rounds of free practice at the 1:10 Nitro Touring Car World championships was used by many as an opportunity to focus on engine run times.  Over the two rounds it would be Italian Capricorn driver Luca Redaelli would would set the fastest three consecutive laps from the Serpent of Alessio Mazzeo with Alessio Agostinelli making it an all Italian Top 3 in the hotter conditions.  With the temperature rise Redaelli’s time was almost 7/10th off the current fastest 3-laps of Simon Kurzbuch which was set in FP7 this morning.  Best non Italian for the two rounds would be Dominic Greiner, the Serpent driver fourth fastest having posted a P3 time in FP10, just 0.003 quicker than Kurzbuch’s Shepherd.
