OfficinaRC Titanium Skinny-UFS

OfficinaRC has released these new Titanium Skinny-UFS screws. They are made of titanium with the best precision machines by experts Italian craftsmen in order to create a product destined to become a reference for those who’s looking for the best experience.  The attractive design and extreme technical characteristics project these screws to become the object of desire of those who’s looking for maximise any performances.  Made one by one from titanium bars. These screws have a head of only 4.4mm wide and 0.9mm thick.  Below the extremely thin head there’s a cylindrical part of 1.4mm that allows a perfect centring without preventing tightening.  Particularly suitable for:  To screw the new Xray XLP shock absorbers to shock towers where space is really limited.  But also to fix parts by increasing their torsion and reducing the weight, even if only slightly.  Ti-6Al4V is the most widely used titanium alloy in the motorsport and aerospace market.  This alloy contains 6% aluminium and 4% vanadium.  Is an excellent combination of endurance to efforts and toughness, with extra resistance to corrosion.

SMJ 20mm 1:10 & 1:8 Car Stand

SMJ has released a new thicker version of their foam car stand.  At 20mm, it leaves the car sitting 6mm higher than the previous version to allowing for more versatile use.  Measuring 300 x 90 x 20 mm, the stand can be used for both 1:10 and 1:8 onroad cars with the Japanese company highlighting it for 1:10 Nitro pit work and engine adjustment.

Another IRIS teaser reveals motor mount

IRIS, the Electric Touring Car newcomers being headed up by designer Andreas Myrberg, has given another hint into what to expect from their first car with the release of this image of the motor mount it will use.  Having teased the market with a chassis plate photo last week, they have also announced that all will be revealed on November 24th when the first official images of the car are to be released.  In the meantime, you can speculate on the ‘innovative design’ Myberg has in store for the category.

Simon Kurzbuch joins Mugen Seiki Europe

Following the announcement last month of his departure from long time chassis sponsor Shepherd, it has been announced that Simon Kurzbuch will drive for Mugen after Mugen Seiki Europe announced the former World Champion had joined the Japanese manufacturer’s International team. Describing the Swiss driver as ‘a strong addition’ to the team, he will race their MRX6X throughout all major and international events. Commenting on the announcement Kurzbuch said, “An existing new journey ahead! I’m delighted and honoured to announce to partner up with the iconic Japanese brand Mugen Seiki for the future! The first insights have convinced me and my team entirely and we are looking forward to a close and fruitful collaboration with the whole Mugen Team, with MSE and Stefan Habbecke and of course with one of my childhood idols and car designer Robert Pietsch.”

New Swiss ‘RC Indoor Arena’ to open in December

Access to tracks are vital to R/C so it is great to hear about plans for a new Indoor facility in Switzerland. Through the work of onroad and offroad drivers, they are creating the ‘RC Indoor Arena’, a beautiful complex in Wädenswil.  The 600m2 offroad track is equipped with new EOS carpet and while onroad drivers will also enjoy a new 720m2 ETS carpet surface. Set to open at the beginning of December, this indoor complex will be ideal for preparing for the next indoor season and will give racers a place to keep their driving skills sharp for the Winter.

Awesomatix AM23-R Rear Steering Arm

Awesomatix has released a new rear steering arm for their A800 touring car platform.  The new AM23-R version is longer compared to the previous AM23-1 Rear Steering Arm.  This feature reduces the free play of the rear toe and improves ARS characteristics.  The improved characteristics of the ARS helps with better mid-corner steering and reduce the risk of snap oversteer during load changes.  Awesomatix recommend to use 0.5mm less bumpsteer shims, to keep the same ARS action as with AM23-1.

Arena RC Racing X4 ’23 Carbon Parts

Arena RC Racing have announced the release of carbon parts for Xray’s X4 ’23 Touring Car.  The Split Front 2.0mm Graphite Upper Deck gives increased initial response and is suitable for medium to high traction conditions.  The Split Rear 2.0mm Graphite Upper Deck provides a little extra flex making it suitable for a wider range of conditions. The other new offering are Graphite Protectors for X4 Composite Hub that are made from 2.0mm graphite and replace the washer for protection of your hub.

Urbain wins opening round of MRC Longwy Winter Series

The opening round of the popular MRC Longwy Winter Series took place over the weekend with Lucas Urbain taking the TQ and win.  With a number of international drivers making the trip to France, Urbain would take his Awesomatix to victory at the first of the four scheduled rounds ahead of factory Mugen driver Ronald Volker and Yokomo’s Yannic Prumper.  MRC Longwy will host the 18th edition of their famous GP3 on January 21-22 with drivers using the Winter Series as preparations for the international race.  Round 2 takes place December 11.
