Dirk Wischnewski wins at Central German Champs Rd2

Dirk Wischnewski wins at Central German Champs Rd2

Round two of the Central German Championship was held at the MSC Kirchhain track. After three rounds of qualifying it was Dirk Wischnewski who took the TQ in the 1/10th scale class with Patrick Schäfer lining up in second only 0.2s behind. Mirco Thalheimer also made it directly into the main with a 3rd place, rounding out an all-Shepherd top 3. The main final then was a done deal for Wischnewski. After a few laps Schäfer’s car was hit in the back by another competitor, resulting in a body tuck meaning a short stop near the pitlane was necessary. Later on Patrick’s engine stalled one time meaning any chance to fight for the lead was gone. Unimpressed Wischnewski cruised around the track and crossed the finishing line in first position with a massive gap of 7 laps in front of Michael Hauser (Xray). Patrick Schäfer recovered to 3rd another lap down but posting the fastest laptime of the final.

Kyle Branson’s round 4 time would put him 4th on the grid for the final behind Alex Thurston, Joe Kerry who was one of the only guys to improve on his time to take 2nd on the grid behind Mark Green.
