Alera3D Lite Touring Car Bumpers

Founded by US racer Alex Fera, Alera3D’s ultralight weight, flexible, and durable 3D printed front bumpers for touring cars have hit the European market with Tonisport announcing the addition of the brand to its line-up. 3DLite bumpers are the lightest weight 3D printed bumpers available on the market, all while maintaining the same full-size footprint as your stock foam bumper! No need to worry about a thin bumper folding while at high speed in modified racing or not fully protecting your touring car in the event of a crash. Additionally, the bumpers have a taper on the bottom leading edge to prevent it from dragging on the ground under braking at high speeds. Every bumper is manufactured in house in the USA from high quality European polymers. Approximate weight of each bumper: Mugen 10g, Awesomatix 10g, Xpress 10g, Yokomo 9g, Xray 8g, Schumacher 7.5g, ARC 7g.

Boom Racing KUDU Multifunctional Soldering Jig

Boom Racing have released this KUDU Multifunctional Soldering Jig. Designed from the ground up the jig is a beautifully crafted high-end billet aluminium and steel tool set for your R/C applications. Being an R/C car manufacturer and hobbyists themselves, they solder many things on a consistent basis with one of the frequent pain points while soldering wires is not having a motor stand with the soldering jig. Having the motor roll around while soldering can be a time-consuming and unpleasant experience. Speaking to other hobbyists they found that they too experience the same issues so went about gathering their requirements and expectations to design an all-in-one solution. The jig is ideal for soldering all types of R/C connectors, especially for R/C cars with the built-in steel electric motor stand. It works with many of the common types of R/C connectors and gives you the freedom to move to get the best soldering angles, with a sturdy base and compact design.

JMRCA 2022 All Japan Touring Car Statistics

Having reported yesterday on Akio Sobue’s victory at the 2022 JMRCA All-Japan Championships over the weekend, our friend & expert on all things Tamiya Kenneth Södergård over at Blog Kentech has compiled interesting manufacturer statics from the first hosting of the National Championships since 2019.  Combined figures from both the Super Expert and Open classes show Mugen (19%) to be the car of choice with Japanese brands dominating the market.  Iconic brand Tamiya, while no longer fielding an international factory team, is still very much alive in competitive touring car as the second most popular brand with only 3% less share than Mugen.  Touring car newcomers, and stars of the recent ISTC World Championships getting both their drivers in the A-Main in Italy, Axon was the third biggest brand just ahead of Yokomo.  In contrast, the two big brands in European touring car race scene, Xray and Awesomatix, both each only made up 5% of the entry.
