JConcepts pre-mounted Pin Swag & Fuzz Bites

JConcepts now offer their latest carpet tires, the Fuzz Bite front and rear as well as the Pin Swag rear as pre mounts on either white or yellow Mono rims. The Fuzz Bite lands on a low-profile carcass carried over from tires such as the Twin Pin. The low stance provides quick transition at high-speed and minimises side-wall deflection and roll. The pin is specially built in a reverse “water tower” shape planting the larger base at the bottom and narrowing at the top for precision. The pins are placed in a radius and repeated about for a healthy nest of pins to dig deep into matting in office carpet or tight knit CRC carpeting. The Swag is split down the centre to give a little individual control to contort to surfaces. In between, a stagger section with angular front is placed just behind a vertical rib to complete the design. The tight spacing of the Pin and Swag bite together and minimise wear across the carcass. An already low-profile carcass rolls through the turns and transitions well at high and low speeds.

O.S. Speed B21 Ongaro Edition

Davide Ongaro has his first Ongaro Edition O.S. Speed B21, having joined the Japanese brand at the start of 2021. Modified according to his own feelings, it is based on the latest O.S. Speed B2104 off-road engine. The crankshaft has been changed to a counter web shape and uses of single tungsten weight specially made for this engine to suit his driving style. The inner head also has a specially designed combustion chamber, and the synergistic effect of these gives a smooth feeling and more powerful top end. In addition, the outer head adopts a standard round type, and sports Ongaro’s original logo mark. A new size φ5.8mm / φ6.3mm black anodised restrictor is also used for the carburettor to create an “Engine that can win big races” that matches his requirements. They will also have a combo set that includes the TB02 (also known as T-2090) EFRA 2089 tuned silencer with MB01-75 (75mm) manifold.

JConcepts pre trimmed high-clearance wings

Two new High-Clearance wings available pre-trimmed has been developed and manufactured by JConcepts Inc. The 6.5” and 7” wide HCW incorporates a short-chord design for quick rotation and a flat-base which provides more tire clearance. As the carpet, Astroturf, and high-traction dirt conditions become more prevalent, racers have asked for specific 6.5” & 7”rear wings. The durable and pre-trimmed design has chopped rear corners for rigidity plus a traditional lower-level gurney that is achievable for even less drag over large jumps. The side-dams of the wing feature hard radius cut-outs which allow even more tire rear expansion and flex space. JConcepts designers Paul Wynn and Fred Reep added dual stability fangs which also help boost the front to rear structure. The rear of the wing still maintains a high-angle to vertical rear dam to give drivers a straight-forward layout suited to high-speed circuits. The HCW is a direct bolt-on piece for most 1/10th buggies and includes one pre-trimmed wing per package.

Mugen Seiki MBX8R Nitro buggy

Mugen Seiki have released the MBX8R buggy, the result of extensive testing and development by some of the best drivers in the world. The team spent a lot of time testing and developing the MBX8R geometry in race conditions throughout 2021, which lead to many major victories, with Ryan Maifield winning The Dirt Nitro Challenge, Silver State Nitro Challenge and ROAR 1/8th Fuel Nationals all in the same year. The MBX8R has many new parts to increase stability, rear traction, improved jumping, and have a wide tuning range. The buggy uses new narrow RF (C) and RR (D) pivot blocks with new pivot inserts for increased tune-ability. Further updates include longer box-shaped suspension arms and arm stiffeners, with the rear arm using an impact resistant material for increased durability. Adjusting the hardness of the lower suspension arms is possible with optional CFRP plates. The rear uprights are also new, the moulded uprights have CFRP plates to adjust rear roll centre. New front shock tower and upper front arm mount use new pivot inserts for increased tune-ability.
