Vision Racing Cougar KF rear camber brace

Vision Racing have introduced a 3mm carbon fibre rear camber brace for the Schumacher Cougar KF models and Cat K1 Aero. The brace gives four mounting positions in one mount, eliminating the need to change mounts to adjust the buggies’ chamber link lengths. The lengths provided are 33.5mm, 38mm, 42.5 and 47mm.

Yokomo announce new 190mm Formula car

Coming this Winter is Yokomo’s all-new 190mm 1/10th Formula pan car kit. The yet nameless car will use a newly designed 2.5mm main chassis specially developed for shorty battery packs. It offers a flexible battery layout, a floating servo mount, long side links and a sliding rear centre pivot. The front suspension is completely redesigned compared to the previous model and it will allow for inline or trailing wheel axles to adjust the steering characteristics. Included in the kit is also a large volume centre shock absorber and a 7075 duraluminium motor pod. More information will become available in November with the kit being set to hit the stores in the second week of December.

Rudy Rico takes double JBRL Electric Series titles

Tekno RC’s Rudy Rico has secured the overall win in the Expert 4WD Short Course and Electric 1/8 scale classes at the 2015 JBRL Series, defending his 2014 titles. This year the prestigious JBRL Electric Series travelled to eight California tracks over seven months and averaged over 200 entries per round. The TLR duo of David Jenson and Ryan Dunford would finish second and third overall in the Expert 4WD Short Course class while in 1/8th E-Buggy David Jenson (TLR) and Casper (TLR) would complete the overall top 3 result.

Tamar Schäfer wins at Swiss Off-road champs Rd5

The fifth and final round of the Swiss Electric Off-road National Championship saw Tamar Schäfer (Intech) walking away with the win in the 4WD Short Course class. Tamar would win the opening A-main but Intech teammate Tyas Wuillemin came out faster in A2 meaning the third leg would decide over the day’s win. A3 then again had Tamar grabbing the win to take the overall victory from runner-up Martin Weidmann (Team Durango) with Tyas Wuillemin rounding out the top 3 result.

2015/16 Slovakia Cup Rd1 – Report

2015/16 Slovakia Cup Rd1 – Report

The opening round of the 2015/16 Slovakia Cup was held at the Hudy Arena in Trencin. The race was held in several electric on-road and off-road classes and in Touring Modified it was pre-event favourite Martin Hudy who took the pole position on his home track. The fight for the 2 spot was on between David Nemcek and Zdenko Kunak with the better end for Zdenko while David placed his car on the third spot for the finals. As expected the A-mains then saw a clean sweep from Martin but behind him the race was on for the runner-up spot and this time David kept his cool while Zdenko ran into trouble. At the end David would grab the runner-up spot behind Martin, with Juraj Hudy rounding out the top 3 result. Oliver Havranek and Zdenko Kunak completed the top 5 result.

Menicucci & Spiniello win at SRC Trophy

The SRC Trophy was held in Montegiorgio, Italy over the weekend in the three classes of Electric Touring Modified, 1/8th Nitro and 1/10th 200mm Nitro. In the Electric Touring Car class Alessio Menicucci was the man to beat and he took quite an easy TQ from his teammates Mattia Collina and Alessio Mancini. In the A-mains it was again Alession Menicucci who came out fastest as he was able to secure the day’s win early while Mancini and Collina battled for the runner-up spot. At the end Alessio Mancini was able to leave Mattia behind with the three making a podium lock-out for Xray.

Team Orion .21 V2 nitro engines

Team Orion have two new .21 nitro competition engines for off-road and on-road applications available. Starting with the buggy engine, R21 Racing Team V2 is the evolution of the popular buggy 3-port racing team and it received some subtle updates such as a black-coated 60mm diameter cooling head for improved heat dissipation and lower running temperatures. Also new is a redesigned piston that leads to a higher RPM range. The case is black coated for a better heat dissipation and the head now features a 60mm diameter, same as the company’s factory versions for a lower running temp and increased mileage while a newly designed piston ensures higher revs.

Jack Embling joins Kyosho international team

Jack Embling joins Kyosho international team

Kyosho Europe have announced the signing of UK’s Jack Embling to the international team. Jack will be using the Inferno MP9 TKI3 chassis with Reds Racing engines and AKA tyres. The young man has improved each year of his career and is now ready to go that extra step and follow his new team mate Elliott Boots to success in 2016. Jack had the following to say:

I am incredibly excited to be joining Kyosho factory team for 2016. It’s always been my ambition to drive for Kyosho and I see this as a great opportunity to take my racing to the next level. I would like to thank Mike, Christophe, Kenji and Mitsuo for making this happen. So 2015-2016 is going to be a busy year, starting with the upcoming race at Padova in November, then on to Montpellier, Neo, Euros, UK Nationals, and the Worlds in Vegas, its going to be a fantastic year. I am feeling super confident running one of the best packages around with my proven Reds engines and AKA tyres.
