Allas & Arekion take Mauritius On-road Championship

The fifth and final round of the Mauritius Nitro On-road Championship was organised by the Mighty Model Club and held at the Winner’s Speedway. In the 1/10th 200mm class, Clarel Lacour took the TQ and he looked like he would bring home the win in the main final also as he was the only driver to complete 19 laps runs in qualifying. In the final though it was Giovanni Arekion who jumped into the lead at the start followed by Clarel Lacour, John Allas and the rookie Olivier Lebon. John Allas and Olivier Lebon didn’t had the pace to match with Giovanni and Clarel as they went for a different tyre strategy and so Giovanni and Clarel battled for the win in the 30 minute final with Clarel coming out successful following a last lap move on Giovanni. John Allas would round out the podium and with the third place he would score enough points to take the overall championship title from Clarel Lacour and Giovanni Arekion.
