Xray RX8 2016 1/8th nitro on-road kit

To sum up our exclusive series of stories on Xray’s all-new RX8 2016 1/8th nitro on-road kit, including the making off part 1 and part 2 as well as the exclusive interview with designer Martin Hudy, we now have all details and images of the company’s all-new top-of-the-foodchain 1/8th kit available. The 2016 specification car received a massive make-over that starts with the all-new aluminium backbone in the form of full aluminium bulkheads, layshaft and radio plate mounts to ensure a strong yet lightweight framework while still allowing maximum flex characteristics for increased traction. Beside the bulkheads also the suspension mounts are made up using aluminium for maximised precision and durability.

JQ doubles at JQRacing event in the Dominican Republic

JQRacing’s Joseph Quagraine, currently on sort of a World trip, flew over to the Dominican Republic for the 1st JQRacing event. The race saw an RC clinic on Saturday and a race on Sunday with the track being a unique zig zagging between coconut trees, with a true exotic and off-road feel. JQ managed to win both 1/8th Nitro and Electric classes, with local Kyosho driver Carlos Sikora coming in second in both categories. Luis José Cabral would then finish third in Nitro, and Elvin Alba grabbed the final podium spot in E-Buggy.

Pro-Line 1973 Ford Bronco rock crawler bodyshell

Pro-Line have introduced the 1973 Ford Bronco rock crawler bodyshell for 12″/305mm wheelbase rigs. Capturing the overall essence of the original Bronco the body features a detailed grill, headlights, body moulding trim and that distinct Bronco look. The body fits trucks such as the Axial SCX10 and Vaterra Ascender and it comes clear, including window masks and a comprehensive decal sheet.

Rob Jansen successful at Dutch electric on-road opener

Round one of the Dutch Electric On-road National Championship was held at the AMCA track in Apeldoorn. The weather played havoc all weekend, heavily affecting the action on track and in the Touring Car Stock category, the Modified class wasn’t run unfortunately, Rob Jansen (Team Magic) would walk away with the win after coming out successful in the wet A1 and dry A2 to grab the overall win early. Sybrand De Boer (Kyosho) took the runner-up spot from third placed Tim Streefkerk (Xray).

Muchmore 40mm 3D cooling fan guard

Muchmore have introduced a 3D cooling fan guard for 40mm fans. Machined from high-quality aluminium and weighing in at only 3.3g the part sports a black anodised surface and machined silver chamfered edges. The guard was made to keep debris, wires and other parts away from the rotating fan blades and it fits most 40mm units.

Dan Jacobs wins Dutch 200mm Nationals opener

The season opener of the Dutch 200mm Nitro On-road Nationals was held at the Heemstede track over the weekend. With a new spec tyre selected for the season all racers were eager to make maximum use of the practice session on Saturday although all conclusions made were pretty much useless on Sunday when the weather turned to the worst with rain, wet snow, hail, and sunshine showing up in differing combinations. In the end only the wet qualifiers would count as not all drivers had been able to run on a completely dry track. Ultimately it would be Daan Jacobs that claimed the TQ while Julius Kolff almost missed the final in 9th place.

Designed for loose, dusty or hard-packed conditions the tyre tread features large lugs for exceptional tread life while balanced tread spacing makes for maximum forward bite. On top of this the uniquely blended side tread reduces the edginess, making it also a very forgiving tyre. The Blockage is available in soft M3 and super soft M4 rubber and it includes blue closed cell inserts.

PowerHD LW-20MG waterproof servo

PowerHD have introduced their all-new LW-20MG standard size servo. Being fully waterproof the servo is ideal for crawler and buggy applications and it offers a torque of up to 20kg-cm and a speed of down to 0.16s. It features dual ball bearings, copper and aluminium gears and it is usable with 4.8V to 6.6V input.
