Andersson wins Swedish 1/12th Modified title

Andersson wins Swedish 1/12th Modified title

The recent Swedish Electric On-road Nationals held at the IRC Arena saw a lively battle for the 1/12th Modified title between Alexander Andersson and Marcus Hellquist. Alexander was fastest in four of the five qualifying rounds but Marcus managed to take the overall TQ with an even faster time. In the opening A-main Marcus would come out fastest from Alexander who in turn won A2, meaning the third and final A-main would bring the title decision. In A3 Alexander managed to slip by Marcus in the opening stages of the race and he would then be able to manage the gap so Alexander Andersson (Yokomo) would ultimately take the win and with it the 2016 title from Marcus Hellquist (Xray). Magnus Hedlund completed the top 3 result.

Therefore it was all about the final A-main but with a fresh battery pack Kuba was off and away to take the day’s win from Jaroslav Kopecky in second and Michal Vitamvas in third. Overall Kuba would also take the series title in the Open class. Michal Vitamvas came in second from third placed Margony Erik.
