JConcepts have introduced a pre-cut chassis protective sheet tailor-made for the TLR22 3.0 buggy. The durable and low-resistance material prevents the chassis bottom from becoming excessively scratched when running the buggy on abrasive surfaces. Coming in a 2-piece set the decals sport JConcepts’ distinctive design to make the car look cool even when it is not on its wheels.

Andrea Pirani joins F.T. Line

Andrea Pirani joins F.T. Line

Only days after signing Rick Vrieljinck, F.T. Line have announced another high-class addition to their team. Andrea Pirani will join Rick V. and Francesco Tironi himself to run the F.T. Line .21 engine throughout 2016. The ENS podium finisher has the following to say about the deal:

I am very happy to start this new partnership with F.T. Line. I would like to thank O.S. Engines for the support they gave me in the past two years, with a special thank you going to Mr. Shimazaki and Mr. Yukami. I’m ready to face a tough 2016 season with F.T. Line, sure i’ll be able to better the results achieved in 2015. I also want to thank F.T. Line in the person of Gino Voghera for the chance they gave me. I will be competing in the Euro Nitro Series, European Championship and AMSCI Italian Nationals.

Volker takes Q1 at DHI Cup

Ronald Volker had a strong opening day at the DHI Cup, the Yokomo driver taking taking the opening round of qualifying as he chases at 7th win at the Danish Classic. Having set the pace in practice behind Volker it was again Alexander Hagberg who was the main challenger, the Xray driver 7/10ths of a second off at the end of the 5-minutes. Runner-up to Volker in 2014, Awesomatix charge Viljami Kutvonen would complete the Top 3 his deficit to Hagberg just 16/100ths of a second. While only the Top 3 managed 24 lap runs, best of the those on 23-lap was reigning Super Stock champion Marek Cerny, the Pro Stock ace surprising himself with his performance ahead of Meen Vejrak and former Mod Champion Adrian Berntsen.

Orlowski holds overnight TQ in Denmark

Michal Orlowski has kicked off his 2016 season perfectly with the Schumacher driver securing the provisional overnight 2WD Buggy TQ at the DHI Cup.  Having topped practice at the Danish event, the 14-year-old carried his pace into qualifying taking the opening two rounds from the Swede Niclas Mansson who sits an impressive second overnight.  Improving one place to claim P3 in the second of the four scheduled qualifiers, Joern Neumann lies third going into Day 2 followed by Xray’s Martin Bayer and Team Associated’s Joakim Nicolaisen.  Having shown promise in practice taking his D216 to the fourth fastest time, for defending champion David Ronnefalk the qualifiers would prove difficult.  Only 13th in Q1, a last lap crash in Q2 would cost the HB driver a second behind Orlowski and the Swede finds himself sitting 10th overall.

New season but no change as Volker tops DHI practice

It is the long established opening international race of the new season, but the early signs from the DHI Cup is that little has changed for 2016 with Ronald Volker topping the practice times in Odense.  Closest to the 6-time winner of the Danish classic would be Alexander Hagberg, the gap over 3-consecutive laps being 1/10th of a second.  Winner of the event in 2013, then driving for Xray, Adrien Berntsen would complete the Top 3 for new Danish manufacturer Gizmo with Viljami Kutvonen making it four different manufacturers at the top of the time sheets with his Awesomatix.

Hupo Honigl joins Xray Factory team

Xray is have announced that the multiple European Champion and Worlds finalist Hupo Honigl has joined Xray team to race off-road with their XB4, XB2, XB8, XB8E and on-road with the X12. Hupo, who recently announced his departure from Serpent, will race all Austrian races as well international events such as Euros & EOS. The 30 time Austrian National Champion and reigning 1/12th Stock European Champion had the following to say about the deal:

I’m very happy to be part of the Xray team. I believe that Xray work as hard as a company as I do as a racer. Xray wants to improve their products all the time and I hope I can help them with my 20+ years of experience. After building the first car, I was 100% sure I made the right decision – the quality and the fitments of everything is just unique in the RC industry and none of any other cars I ever built is even close to this. I´m really looking forward to some successful years together and I hope I finally found my new home.

Bayer fastest in 4WD at DHI Cup

Martin Bayer has set the 4WD Buggy pace on the opening day of the DHI Cup.  Despite being forced to sit out the final practice due to a servo failure, the Xray driver still managed to top the seeding list thanks to his 3-consecutive pace of the opening timed practice. Closest to the Czech ace was HB’s David Ronnefalk, the Swede improving on his opening time by a tenth of a second to get within 2/10ths of Bayer. Having set the pace in 2WD practice, Michal Orlowski would end up third fastest but the Schumacher driver was a considerable 7/10ths off the pace. For defending champion Joern Neumann, sixth would be the best the Serpent driver could manage behind Yokomo team-mates Tom Cockerill and Frederik Hovgaard.

Tekno RC aluminium stub axles

Made for Tekno RC’s 1/8th line of off-road vehicles are the new aluminium stub axles. They are designed to reduce rotating mass as well as unsprung weight without sacrificing strength or durability. CNC-machined from 7075 aluminium and hard anodised for wear, they provide a weight reduction of over 12 grams per pair or more than 24 grams for the whole set. They are a direct replacement for the stock steel stub axles on the NB48, NT48, EB48 and ET48 series cars.
