MIP T5M Pucks Bi-Metal R-CVD drive system

MIP T5M Pucks Bi-Metal R-CVD drive system

MIP introduce the Pucks 17.5 Bi-Metal R-CVD drive system for the Team Associated T5M stadium truck. The design is unlike standard C-CVDs as it features a keyed joint made out of hardened alloy steel that connects to 7075 hard anodised aluminium. This feature allows to lighten up the drivetrain without sacrificing the durability that steel components offer. Also with the R-CVD design it couples the original wheel axle components with the MIP Bi-Metal bone to keep costs low and give the essentials to transfer over to MIP’s Pucks system. Included are also 7075 hard anodised aluminium outdrives and the necessary components to build an aluminium puck ball differential differential.

Dutch 1/10th Nitro On-road Championship – Report

Dutch 1/10th Nitro On-road Championship – Report

The Mach Heemsteede played host for the opening round of the Dutch 1/10th Nitro On-road Championship with the weather forecast being everything but perfect for the first race of the season. Thankfully the 1/10th scale IC class is growing again as some very fast 1/10 Electric Touring Car racers made the move to nitro to get the excitement of a 30 minutes final. New for the 2015 season is a controlled tyre system, that was introduced to complement the stock Novarossi engine and low noise Hipex exhaust system rule. Light rain in the morning made that all heats were declared wet as the controlled Capricorn 37/40 shore tyres where not working yet. However the 3rd round of heats, run on a drying track, gave a surprise as electric racer John Bruins was on pole followed by a newcomer to the class, Jarno Holtman. On the 3 spot it was previous Dutch Champion Daan Jacobs, after having a sabbatical from RC cars and on 4th was another local electric racer in the form of Glenn Hogervorst.

Gunter & Jackson win Stock classes at BTCC Rd1

Run on Sorex 32 control tyres, the race saw a maximum entry of 130 drivers for the first serious race on the UK calendar. Around 80 keen drivers took up the opportunity of practice on the Saturday getting their cars dialled in for the race on Sunday. Sundays temperatures were a little on the cool side with drivers struggling a little for traction in the early practice run after the overnight rain. In the biggest 13.5T Boosted class Chris Gunter was top of the time sheets in qualifying ahead of current BRCA Champ Zak Finlay and new signing James Hart. The final saw an easy flag to flag victory for Chris with Ben Putt and Jimmy Maddison taking 2nd and 3rd after an intense battle between the pair.
