BRCA announce 2015/16 Formula control tyre

BRCA announce 2015/16 Formula control tyre

The BRCA GT Circuit section have announced the control tyre for the 2015/16 BRCA GT national series Formula class. At the 2015 EGM, the floor voted for the committee to find a suitable control tyre for the Formula national series, this needed to have a balance of price, performance, availability and fitment. The BRCA held an “open” testing event at Swifts Raceway on August 23rd for drivers of all abilities to turn up and run four different set of tyres from three manufactures. The BRCA asked the drivers to try not to focus on what may be the “fastest” tyre, but give feedback as to the feel and balance shift across the sets. As a result the GRP GFX10-S2 and GFX20-S2 with carbon aluminium effect wheels were chosen as the 2015/16 control tyre. The press release in full including some testing results can be found here.

The organisers of the Essex Winter Series have announce the full details for the 2015/16 Championship. Now recognised as the premier on-road championship in the UK, the EWS will again be contested over five rounds on one of the largest carpet tracks in the world, all rounds running at the popular venue of Deanes Sports Centre, near Southend in the South East of the UK. There will be two classes again, for Touring Cars with Modified motors, and Super Stock 13.5 blinky. Both classes will continue to run on the Ride REX30 tyre. Following a sell out in just seven minutes last year, the entry process has been altered slightly. Entries are now open, and will remain open until midday on Saturday 12 September. Entries will be capped at a maximum of 120, and if the event is oversubscribed then drivers will be placed onto the reserve list, with priority for entries given to those competing in the whole series and those who have supported EWS Events in the past. Roche P12 aluminium option parts

Roche have new aluminium option parts for the P12 1/12th scale pan car available. First up are off-set rear axle ride height adapters. The original parts are of a 0/1.5mm design with the optional parts being of a 0.25/1.25mm setting which makes for in-between ride height settings. The CNC-machined adjusters come black anodised and laser-etched for easy identification. Also new is an aluminium lower pod plate for the P12 with the 7075-T6 part increasing rear traction and improve motor cooling. The plate comes black anodised for wear and it is a direct replacement for the kit’s carbon fibre part. Last but not least are 4-40 aluminium rear wheel screws with 2mm hex heads. The red anodised parts are doing away with the need to use imperial-size tools to install or remove the wheels.

Ryan Lutz sweeps Labor Day Shootout

Ryan Lutz sweeps Labor Day Shootout

The Labour Day Shootout was held at A-Main’s Silver Dollar Raceway with a good turnout of drivers from the West Coast in attendance. The track sported some sections left over from the ROAR Nationals and yet a few changes to make it feel completely different. The traction was a bit higher than at the Nationals with no real glossy slick areas. Saturday was qualifying proceedings and in E-Buggy and Nitro Truggy it was Ryan Lutz who would take the overall TQs early by taking round TQs in the first and second qualifier. Nitro Buggy was a different affair though and it would come down to the third qualifier between Curtis Door and Ryan. Curtis had a bad first lap and Ryan just got caught in traffic and made a mistake which allowed Atondo to take the round. Overall though based on the tie-breaker Ryan would TQ over Door.
