Tobias Kerler joins ARC

Tobias Kerler joins ARC

ARC have announced the signing of Germany’s Tobias Kerler to their nitro on-road team. The former Serpent driver will use the company’s R8.0 car in his upcoming campaign that will see appearances at the ENS, the Euro A in Germany and the German Championship. This is what Tobias has to say about the deal:

First of all I want to say thanks to ARC for the possibility to drive the new ARC R8.0. After a long time in Serpent, which I want to thank also, I wanted to meet new challenges. I heard about the outstanding car and the decision was easy. During construction of the R8.0 I saw that the power train is very smooth and due to the very good quality the building structure was quite simple. In the first test I reached already the times like with my Serpent. In my first race, the 2. LCT run in Rötz, I could undercut my time to 1/10[th of a second]. Now I’m looking forward to work together with the whole ARC team and present the car at the next races [as are the] ENS, Euro A Ettlingen and DM 1/8 Türkheim.

Ronnefalk tops opening day at Euros

Ronnefalk tops opening day at Euros

David Ronnefalk has opened his title defence in the best possible way as he topped the times on the very hot & humid opening day of the 1:8 Offroad European Championships in Sacile, Italy. Chasing a third consecutive European title, the 2015 HB/HPI Racing signing recorded a fastest lap time of 38.138 around the Ongaroring track in the days fourth and final round of practice. A day that saw the track improve over the day but still a bit off the traction levels experienced at the Warm-up Race back in May, it was 2012 World Champion Robert Batlle who would end up second fastest just 0.021 slower. Behind them Italian National Champion Alex Zanchettin would complete the Top 3 just ahead of the last European Champion before Ronnefalk Darren Bloomfield. With most drivers using Day 1 of the 35th running of the championships to bed themselves in and wait for the track to come in, Warm-up Race winner Elliott Boots would post the seventh fastest time sandwiched between former champions Yannick Aigoin and Renaud Savoya.
