Groskamp wins Dutch 1:8 Onroad Nationals Opener

The NOMAC Dutch National Championship for Onroad Nitro took place over the weekend at the RACO2000 circuit in Utreacht with Jilles Groskamp taking the 1:8 win. The Team Infinity driver secured the TQ with fastest time in the third of the three 4-minute qualifying rounds with Robbin Hertong, Jesse Keller and Joey Sober lining up behind him on the starting grid for the 30-minute final. From the front, and setting the fastest lap of the race, the former European Champion of the class pulled clear to win from the Serpent pairing of Keller and another former European Champion Michael Salven….

Coelho is Top Qualifier on TITC Return

…Q3 & 4 having TQ’d the opening round, Axon’s Akio Sobue will start his TITC title defence from P2. With a strong Japanese showing at the event, Ishioka Hayato will start third behind his team-mate while Yamamoto Ryosuke led the Infinity charge securing P4 on the grid. Double TITC Champion Alexander Hagberg lines up 5th for Xray ahead of Marc Rheinard’s Awesomatix with the A-Main line-up completed by Naoto Matsukura, Jin Sawada, Jilles Groskamp and Chavit Sligupta. 20-years of Touring Car bodyshell evolution by Jilles Groskamp – Video

World Champion Electric Touring Car ace Jilles Groskamp has wrapped up 2022 with an interesting video showing the evolution of the electric touring car body shell over the last 20-years. Having gathered together of his old race bodies, which have been in storage in his father Frank’s house, the collection includes many that we here at Red RC have had the pleasure of photographing in the heat of battle. Infinity IF14-2 ‘Team Edition’

Creation Model has officially released details of their new Infinity IF14-2 ‘Team Edition’ 1:10 Electric Touring Car. Used by the team at the ISTC World Championships in Italy, where Jilles Groskamp qualified the car fifth on the grid, the car was developed with input from gathered in testing by its team drivers. While still sharing many spare and optional parts with the IF14-2, the Team Edition has a number of key changes to enhance performance. Sahashi gains elusive ‘Double Champion’ status with victory in Thailand

Greiner and Groskamp take convincing Semi wins

Dominic Greiner and Jilles Groskamp took convincing Semi Final wins at the 1:10 Nitro Touring Car World Championship as the final grid to decide the 9th running of the Championship is set in Thailand. Up first Greiner drove a controlled race with it looking like it was going to be a Capricorn 1-2 as Alex Thurston put in a great drive. Balestri wins thrilling Super Pole shootout

…with the former 1:8 World Champion deliver an impressive 14.9 second lap, a time only seen once in qualifying and also set by the Japanese driver. Next up it was Dominic Greiner but it was clear the 2016 Champion was struggling as he rolled a number of times during his warm-up. Matsukura to defend World title as Top Qualifier

…needed to repeat his 2018 TQ start. The other contender for the top spot, Jilles Groskamp would get a P4 for the final effort behind Tadahiko Sahashi, a result that would count towards his third overall ranking. Having TQ’d the second round of qualifying yesterday Dominic Greiner would flip in the warm-up, although not in contention for the overall TQ he damaged his car and had a DNF but overall ends up fourth so get so second chance to book a direct spot into Saturday’s 1-hour final with Super Pole.
