“I never give up wanting to win”, Balestri says 1:10 World Title “the missing piece”

The first ever event Red RC covered was the 2007 1:10 Nitro Touring Car European Championship in Madrid, Spain. The class was still the new kid on the block and there was plenty of hype about the category. The race would be Xray’s first venture into nitro with them bringing in star names Teemu Leino and Jilles Groskamp from electric touring car in their quest to win with their new NT1. Dario Balestri was the defending Champion and the real star of nitro onroad. He was Italian, he exclusively raced nitro, and he was one of chosen ones for iconic…

Vejrak “just excited to race again” as WC returns to scene of his 2012 World title.

…dreams but winning it on home soil surrounded by those who supported you from your very first days of racing takes it to an even higher emotional level. It turned out 2012 was a special year for ‘local boy done good’ as a few months earlier we witnessed Jilles Groskamp become ISTC World Champion at the very track on which he honed his skills as a kid. With the Worlds returning to his home track and his name coming up as one that is expected to be in the mix, Meen isn’t phased by the pressure but instead is relishing…

Groskamp splits Xray’s in Q3, but Coelho still in control

After his battery issues in Q2, Jilles Groskamp has bounced back to become the first driver to split the Xray’s at the top of the times. The Infinity driver set the 2nd fastest time in the third round of qualifying with a 4/10th advantage over Alexander Hagberg but upfront it was Bruno Coelho who remained in clear control of proceedings. The only driver to run 19-laps as wind made for loose conditions, Coelho’s rivals have just one last chance to deny the reigning World Champion from defending his title from the TQ, few expecting any other outcome here in Gubbio….

“My goal is now more focused on win than just making A-Main”, Krapp confident for World Champs

…factory driver, a role he fulfilled with the highest level of professionalism in representing the famed Japanese brand, he finished 4th in Burgdorf 2010 ahead of future WC’s Ronald Volker and Jilles Groskamp. In the next World Championship year, 2012, Christopher would join the big league when he won the third round of that season’s ETS, the series having World Championship like status with the level of manufacturer support at races and massive global following it had amassed. Unfortunately his World’s performance later that year wouldn’t quite live up to expectations with him finishing a disappointing 7th. 2014 would prove…
