Ty Tessmann doubles at ROAR Nitro Offroad Nationals

Ty Tessmann doubles at ROAR Nitro Offroad Nationals

The 2015 ROAR Nitro Offroad Nationals were held this past weekend at the Silver Dollar RC Raceway in Chico, CA. The qualifying was pretty much dominated by HB’s Ty Tessmann, the reigning ROAR Nitro Buggy champion, who made a clean sweep in Nitro Truggy qualifying by winning all four qualifying rounds while in the Nitro Buggy class 2014 Nitro Truggy champ Dakotah Phend denied him the same domination as the TLR driver grabbed the final qualifier. The 60 minute Buggy final then saw an early battle of Ty and Dakotah with Phend taking the the lead at one point following a mistake of Tessmann but the latter shot back into the lead to re-establish the order. Later in the race Dakotah would have to retire with a problem on his buggy which promoted Ryan Cavalieri the 2nd spot. Around mid-race it looked like Cavalieri would be able to control the gap of a couple of seconds to Tessmann only until Ty was able to further open the gap as much that he was in the position to lap Ryan in the closing stages of the final. A late error of Tessmann meant a bit of relief for Cavalieri but Ty would ultimately lap Ryan after the latter also made a mistake. So at the end Ty Tessmann (HB/O.S.) would be adding another ROAR National title to his belt. Ryan Cavalieri (Team Associated/Mx) and Jared Tebo (Kyosho/Mx) would round out the podium in 2nd and 3rd respectively.
