Volker wins again in Round 7 but so does Rheinard

Having gained some ground on points leader Marc Rheinard in the day’s second round of racing with a win, defending Reedy Race Champion Ronald Volker continued his fight back with a third victory as the famous heads up racing event entered the second half. Winning Round 7’s opening encounter from 9th on the grid, having pulled back 4 points on his rival in the previous encounter, the Yokomo driver however wouldn’t reduce the gap further as his rival snatched a late victory in Race 3. While the two best touring car drivers in the world added a win to their tally, them separated by 2-points, the round would see one of the best offroad drivers in the world register his first. Starting from the front row of the grid Ryan Cavalieri would win Race 2 convincingly over his experienced Team Associated touring car team-mates Juho Levanen and Keven Hebert.

Day 2 opens at RROC with wins for Rheinard, Vejrak and Matsukura

A cold start to the second day of racing at the Reedy Race of Champions in California, it was overnight points leader Marc Rheinard who got proceedings underway at Tamiya Raceway with his fourth win from five races. Winner of two encounters yesterday, Meen Vejrak would bring his tally to three with a very easy win in Race 2 over Nicolas Lee and defending champion Ronald Volker. After a tough opening day that left him sitting 14th in the points, World Champion Naoto Matsukura registered his first win but declared the victory over Juho Levanen a ‘lucky’ one.

Rheinard leads at RROC after ‘almost perfect day’

Marc Rheinard leads the way at the end of the first day of racing at the Reedy International Touring Car Race of Champions. An ‘almost perfect day’, the Tamiya driver capped off a run of three wins with a third in the day’s final round. Chasing a record 5th title at the World famous event that now honours the memory of rc industry pioneer Mike Reedy, Rheinard holds a two points advantage over defending champion Ronald Volker as Meen Vejrak holds third with two more days of racing to come. The fourth round of racing would see Christopher Krapp becoming the third multiple winner as he backed up his Round 2 victory with a win over Volker. Pulling off the pass of the day to get by fellow Swede Alexander Hagberg, Viktor Wilck notched up his first win as did Akio Sobue when he led home Keven Hebert and Rheinard.

JTP RB6 front shock tower & merchandise

New from JTP, the brand of multi-time US National and 2013 IFMAR World Champion Jared Tebo, comes a carbon fibre front shock tower for the Kyosho RB6 as well as two new T-shirts. Starting with the shock tower, the part was designed and tested by Jared himself and it is of slightly other dimensions than the stock shock stay to allow for an alternative front geometry. The part is machined from high-quality carbon fibre and it was designed to offer a better front end feeling through corners and over obstacles as it improves the uptravel of the suspension. The shocks need to be converted to LA43 long shock ends and the tower is up for grabs now. Also new are two T-shirts, the black Race To Win and the blue Strike shirt. Both 100 percent cotton premium Next Level tees are screen printed in the USA and, like the shock tower, available here.

Arrowmax 1/10th on-road aluminium wing mounts

Arrowmax have new aluminium wing mounts for 1/10th on-road vehicles available. Machined from aluminium and sporting the Arrowmax logo the plates offer a larger mounting surface than most of the standard wing mounting hardware supplied with the bodyshells. This makes for a more sturdy rear wing mounting as the plates are of a 2-screw design and yet small enough to not disturb the air flow. Coming including mounting hardware the mounts are available in purple, orange and gray colour.

VBC GhostEvo camber link adjuster

New from VBC Racing and made for the GhostEvo touring car are aluminium camber link adjusters. The brackets are mounted to the upper bulkheads using flathead screws while the camber link length and thus the camber gain characteristics and roll centre are adjustable using different thickness shims to finely adjust the space between the bulkhead and the bracket. The adjusters are made from aluminium, they come red anodised, in sets of two and including mounting hardware.

2 from 2 for Rheinard

Marc Rheinard has got his Reedy Race of Champions off to the best possible start with the Tamiya driver making it two wins from the first two rounds of racing at Tamiya Raceway. Starting up front in the same heat as the other two winners from the opening race of the event, Rheinard led from start to finish as Ronald Volker worked his way up to third with Meen Vejrak managing only 6th after a mistake while trying to avoid hitting his Yokomo team-mate. In the other two races Xray’s Alexander Hagberg and Christopher Krapp capitalised on front row starts to clock up their first wins.

Volker, Vejrak & Rheinard win opening RROC encounters

After a delayed start due to overnight rain, the opening round of racing at this year’s Reedy Internatonal Touring Car Race of Champion resulted in pretty straight forward wins for defending champion Ronald Volker, Meen Vejrak and Marc Rheinard. Starting from second on the grid alongside pole starter Ryan Cavalieri, Volker took a much expected convincing win in the opening race of the event followed by Serpent’s Viktor Wilck who started on the second row alongside another off road star, Ty Tessman. In the second heat, it was 16-year-old Yokomo driver Andrew Hardman who led the way for the first five laps before being passed by team-mate Vejrak who had started from 10th on the grid. Later in Hardman would lose 2nd to Tamiya’s Christopher Krapp as Vejrak cruised to victory up front. Concluding the first of the 12 rounds of heads up race, in Heat 3 four time Reedy Race champion Marc Rheinard, starting from 7th on the grid, took just three laps to get to the front to win ahead of team-mates Akio Sobue and Nicholas Lee.
