O.S. Speed B2101 buggy nitro engine

O.S. Speed B2101 buggy nitro engine

Japanese company O.S. introduce their latest competition buggy engine in the form of the B2101. Based on the experience gained with the 21XZ series the square bore/stroke engine is of a new design that allows for a more controllable bottom to mid range power, resulting in improved vehicle control. The B2101 makes use of a new crankshaft that comes with a special coating and it is tungsten balanced while a redesigned cooling head lowers the centre of gravity. The motor will not replace O.S.’s Speed 21XZ-B Spec.II as this will still be available for all drivers who seek the ultimate in bottom end power. The B2101 is set for an October release following the World Championships in Sicily.

Avid Triad Evo slipper plates

Avid Triad Evo slipper plates

Avid introduce their new Triad Evo slipper clutch. It utilises a new plate design that is self-centring so there is no longer a need for the three hard-to-mount black washers. Avid also added three vented slots in order to remove some rotating mass and to help with cooling the plates during a vented operation. The original Triad slipper clutch kits will have a running name change to Triad Evo and will include the new Evo plates along with a new set of install instructions. The Evo plates are also available separately if racers would like to upgrade their current slipper, nothing else is needed. They are compatible on every vehicle except the Durango conversion. Due to the nature of the Durango design they are too tight for operation so now the Durango upgrade kit will include two original Triad plates without any price change. For customers that just recently purchased a Triad slipper and have yet to use it, Avid will honour a free exchange of the original plates for the new Evo plates.

HemiStorm Addict Baja 5B bodyshell

HemiStorm Addict Baja 5B bodyshell

HemiStorm have the new Addict bodyshell for the HPI Baja 5B large scale buggy available. Made from high-quality 1.5mm polycarbonate the 5-piece body is of a somewhat different shape compared to the kit body in order to give the 5B a fresh new look. First up are longer sidepods that keep away dust and debris from the crucial parts such as the clutch and pullstart. Additional width ensures sufficient cooling while underneath the skid plate there is a stepped line allowing for extra ground clearance in rough terrain. The body panels also give enough room for Outerwear’s prefilter while the raised front makes it easier to run upgraded linkage setups or additional electronics. Also included with the body comes a paintable lightweight roof that replaces the stock aluminium roof piece.

David Ronnefalk takes Swedish Cup Series

David Ronnefalk takes Swedish Cup Series

Last weekend the fourth and final round of the Swedish Cup Series took place at the track of Borås MRK. Normally a place where rain comes into play, however this year it was not like that as the sun was out all weekend. The overall winner of the cup was going to be decided with a few guys having a shot at it. However the race was pretty much dominated by David Ronnefalk as he TQ’ed every round of qualifying and later on started from pole position into the final. The spectators then witnessed a close and fun battle between David and Kennie Ekenstierna towards the end with David coming out on top ultimately. This meant the overall cup would went to David as he won all three races he attended after missing one round due to a date clash.

Thanks to David Ronnefalk for sending the report.
