IFMAR World Champion Jared Tebo has new merchandise to offer in the form of the Force and Chico design shirt. Starting with the Force, the shirt offers a clean and simple design with a little edgyness. It has the JTP RC circle logo centred in an abstract rectangle design on the front, followed by the JTP RC logo on the back lower right corner. The white screenprint is done on a blue shirt.

How was it allowed to happen that an entire industry was put at risk for 12 days. I mean the track for the 15th running of the 1:8 Offroad World Championship must have been the most written about bits of land to host an r/c race but no one raised the human risk associated by its proximity to Europe’s most active volcano!!! Had Mount Etna acted up it could have been the final nail in the coffin for 1:8 Offroad. Having said that the mass deaths caused by the rivers of molten lava would surely mean an amazing future for the sport as the highly qualified online RC experts would finally get the calling they so much deserve to fill all job vacancies. For all the negative pre-event press that was published and on which those online experts fed like piranhas the World Championships in Sicily from where i saw it was, as IFMAR events go, a decent meeting. Although not a good benchmark to be working off, the event was a huge improvement on Argentina two years earlier.

Better late than never? I guess that is my theme for this entry as we all recover from the long world championship event. It seems everyone got sick after the event too which has led to a long recovery and hang-over. I ask my myself immediately following the 60 minute A-final event. So if you win on Sunday or in this case on Saturday, do you sell on Monday? That is why we are all there right? A promotion to help ignite sales of the product. Everyone should be lined up to buy all the latest product that was on the winning ride starting with the Hot Bodies D812….right?

Arrowmax now have a Jörn Neumann Edition 1/10th off-road carstand available. Made from aluminium and coming with Jörn’s signature the carstand not only securely holds buggies and trucks during building, maintenance and setup but it also has cut-outs to take small and big bore shock absorbers during refilling and bleeding. The 2014 ORRCA Queensland Electric Onroad Titles where run at the regional holiday resort town of Hervey Bay in Queensland, at the last weekend of September. The date for the event is fixed to coincide with Australian school holidays in order to encourage juniors to participate, and it was great to see a number of young drivers racing in the event. Most drivers had travelled from Brisbane to take part, and there also were quite a few drivers from regional Queensland. Classes that are at the titles run are Modified, 13.5T and 21.5T electric all running on Sorex tires. The Modified class was won by a familiar winner of this event; Hot Bodies driver Jason Dorn (TQ), from Corey Broadstock (Xray) and Brad McDonald (Yokomo).

The TORCH 1/10th Electric Offroad Dash for Cash GP will take place on Sunday 19th October. The format will be one round of timed practice, 4 rounds of qualifying and one 7 minute final for all. Prizes for top three in all finals plus, and this is the different bit, £50 cash top prize for the top finisher in each BRCA formula grade F1 through to F5. Formula grades will be based on current 2014 grading used in this year’s regionals and nationals. Places will limited to first 100 entries for 2WD and 4WD Buggy.
