X-Factory UK X-6S 2WD conversion kit

X Factory UK introduce the X-6S shaft driven 2WD mid motor buggy, a special edition aimed towards the use on astro turf and carpet tracks. The X-6S is based on the popular X-Factory X-6 Cubed front end but utilises the rear suspension and drivetrain from the B44.2 platform. Featuring a lightweight CarbonFlex chassis for both rigid construction and strength whilst retaining the all important controlled flex for consistent bump handling. A carbon fibre multi-layer front top deck system is combined with a new carbon fibre rear top deck designed to optimise flex and to provide easy access for slipper adjustment. The vehicle makes use of the popular shorty LiPo battery packs for improved weight balance while two servo mounting positions and rear mounting locations for added ballast enable easy weight distribution tuning.

Active Hobby Products 1/12th foam donuts

Active Hobby Products from Japan soon have a line of 1/12th scale foam tyres available. Coming first as 35 shore front and 30 shore or 35 shore rear tyre the donuts are already cut to a low profile diameter making excessive truing unnecessary. Each set will contain 3 pairs and the tyres are designed to fit most of today’s 1/12th wheels. Designed for carpet and high-grip asphalt tracks the foams will become available by end of April.

CWIC 2013/14 final round – Report

CWIC 2013/14 final round – Report

The final round of the 2013/2014 Chippenham Winter Indoor Championship took place with 100 drivers booked in. The track and conditions were good as the new carpet started to get a groove in. With final places and outcomes still possible in most of the championships it would lead to some fast and furious racing. In 13.5 Boosted Touring Chris Gunter was also leading the way, with a great third round run to take TQ and pole for the finals ahead of Luke Bennetts, who lined up second, 0.30 of a second ahead of Mark Giaquinto, who took third.

Muhammad Izzah wins 13.5T at SIS Challenge Rd1

The 1st round of the indonesian SIS Challenge 2014 was held at the SOS track in Jakarta, Indonesia with a total of 40 entries in the 13.5T Stock and FWD class. The best out of 3 qualifying rounds was used to determine the starting grid and it was Ronny Suwarto (Xray) who took TQ in front of Bowie Ginting (Xray) and Muhammad Izzah. In the opening 13.5T A-final, Bowie took the lead followed by Izzah in 2nd as Ronny had a bad start. Izzah was able to pass Bowie and win the 1st leg, followed by Ronny and Bowie. Izzah then also went on to win the 2nd final as Ronny made a mistake in the last minute while defending his lead. In the 3rd final, it was Bowie who took the win in front of Danny and Izzah. In the overall result Muhammad Izzah came in first followed by Bowie Ginting and Ronny Suwarto, who where tie on points, making it an all-Xray podium. Danny Izawahyudi and Faiza completed the top 5 result.

Exotek Racing have new aluminium option parts for the Team Losi Racing 22 line of buggies and trucks available in the form of a direct spur gear hub and aluminium spring retainers. Starting with the spur gear hub, the part is machined from high-quality aluminium and designed to replace the kit’s slipper assembly of all 22 2WD vehicles with a lightweight, rigid hub ideal for stock class and oval racing. The lower weight increases acceleration and it makes for cooler running motors while the overall design allows to run all Kimbrough standard gears for increased gear ratio options. Weighting in at 3.8g the part is also easily swapped for the stock slipper when conditions call for it.

Nuno Rebelo wins at ACRP club trophy

The first ever ACRP club trophy was run at the historic Trofa track in the North of Portugal. The race format was quite a special one as the qualifying seeded the drivers into different final heats that are all run over 30 minutes with the fastest overall time declaring the winner. Tiago Aguiar TQ’ed the race but due to massive rain he opted not to race his final, handing Nuno Rebelo the overall win. Jose Leitao finished with the second fastest time while Ruben Simoes completed the podium in third place.

Marek Cerny doubles at Czech Championship

Marek Cerny doubles at Czech Championship

The Czech electric on-road championships where held in the small Moravian town of Jedovnice last weekend. The race was run in Touring Car Open and Stock, GT, Hobby and a Formula class on quite a fast track with a lot of straights and a medium grip level. Ride ETS tyres where used in the Open class while Stock was run on LRP rubber. After a full day of practice on Friday the race started on Saturday with 5 rounds of qualifying with the best 3 to count.
