Mike Swauger continues with Xray

World and multi national champion Mike Swauger will continue with Xray, the Slovakian company announce. The nitro on-road specialist will use the company’s 1/10 and 1/8 cars during his 2014 campaign and has the following to say about the deal:

I would like to thank Ralph Burch and everyone at RC America and Xray for the past two years of racing. I’m excited to have signed with team again for the 2014 season and looking forward to having a great year of racing with the Xray team. See you at the next race.

RSD TC6.2 adjustable body mounts

RSD TC6.2 adjustable body mounts

Reflex Racing now have these RSD adjustable body mounts for the Team Associated TC6.2 touring car available. The set contains two threaded tubes that slide over the original body posts for a rough body height adjustment and then two O-ring equipped support bushings are screwed onto the tubes for near infinite height adjustment. Coming as pair the body mounts also allow for body angle adjustment in order to bias the downforce.

Speed Passion introduce the updated Reventon Pro 1.1 EX brushless speed controller. The latest version of SP’s World Championship winning ESC received a smaller black colour case that now measures 35x35x20mm, it comes with a new low-profile 30mm fan and the ESC is usable with 1S and 2S LiPo batteries. The 140A rated speedo features a 6V/3A BEC system, a build-in on/off switch and it is available now.

Zoey Zac wins in Kuala Lumpur

The annual nitro on-road race at the KLIRCC track in Kuala Lumpur had Zoey Zac winning the 45 minute final of the 1/10th 200mm class. The Xray driver was sidelined on the podium by his Xray teammates Amar Dungun and Anas.

Made for Tamiya’s TB-04 chassis is this aluminium stock motor adapter. The C-shaped 6061 alloy part allows to use up to 52T 64dp and 37T 48dp pinions without further modification, making it ideal for all high-turn stock motors and “blinky” spec racing. The polished and anodised part is of a vented design for improved cooling and is also TCS North America series legal.

SWorkz S350 series wheel hub balance weight set

SWorkz introduce this wheel hub weight balance set for the S350 series of 1/8th buggies. Included in the set are 10g weights for each front steering knuckle as well as 5g and 8g weights for the rear hubs. Adding unsprung weight may sound strange at first but can add traction on a variety of surfaces in order to get better laptimes out of the buggy.

Gillespie Jr. wins at President’s Day Classic

The 6th Annual President’s Day Classic was run at Addiction R/C in Ogden, Utah. With a total of 220 entries and 28 heats large, Addiction R/C was staged to be the center of epic battles all weekend long. The largest classes over the weekend were Stock Buggy at 32 entries, 2WD Mod buggy 25 entries, and 4WD Mod buggy with also 25 entries which ran on a 5 minute triple A-main format. The rest of the classes saw single 8 minute A-main events with lower mains receiving a 5 minute treatment.

New surface awaits ETS in Gran Canaria

This weekend (28 Feb-2 March) the Yokomo Euro Touring Series heads to Gran Canaria where a freshly resurfaced track awaits competitors travelling to the Spanish holiday island for the third round of the championship. The third year for the ETS to visit the Circuito Automodelismo El Hornillo track, the event marks the welcomed switch from a winter of indoor carpet racing to outdoor asphalt and previous encounters have turned up unexpected race winners. Last year the event saw Tamiya’s Viktor Wilck take his first ETS win in 19-races while on the first visit to the island Kyosho’s Christopher Krapp took his maiden victory, both drivers ending the dominant start by Yokomo’s Ronald Volker to the past two seasons.
