Xray XB4 anti-roll bars

Xray XB4 anti-roll bars

Xray introduce new optional anti-roll bar wires in several diameters in order to fine-tune the handling characteristic of the buggy. Available from 1.0mm to 1.8mm the bars are made from heat-treated spring steel wire and come with laser-etched size markings for easy identification. Both the front and rear anti-roll bar are interchangeable so there is no specific front or rear wire.

Xray Column – Making the XB4

Xray Column – Making the XB4

The 66th installment in the Xray column from Xray owner and chief designer Juraj Hudy is now online. In this months column, Juraj gives an insight into the development of Xray’s first 1/10th electric off-road buggy, the XB4.

For a designer, an all-new project is always the most exciting since there are no limitations from the previous versions … anything and everything are still possible. At the same time, an all-new project is also the most challenging one since you start from absolute zero and have no basis to build on, so logically an all-new project consumes the most time and resources. To start the project, of course I needed to gain some experience and do a lot of research and analysis. To have first-hand experiences you could have spotted me at various races where I have raced almost all cars available on the market.

The tricky conditions which relied on incredible forward bite but a slight amount of rotation to get all the corner speed possible out of the vehicles. Some drivers struggled to adapt, but  JR and Cody had done their homework in years prior and returned to the annual event for a 3rd time, their previous experiences at the  Bigfoot paid off and both JR and Cody were on point.
