Sanwa Exzes-Z stick-radio set

Sanwa Exzes-Z stick-radio set

Sanwa have released the Exzes-Z, the stick version of the M12 and the successor to the popular Exzes-X. The new system claims to feature super high speed response with next to zero latency for the ultimate driving feel and also allows you to program the D/R settings to allow you to change trim or a curve in an instant to react to the changing conditions. The transmitter has also been made significantly lighter compared to its predecessor thanks to changes to the radio’s internal structure. Finally, like the M12, the Exzes-Z allows you to integrate a telemetry function to record your throttle and steering inputs and with extra sensors to recorder the RPM, voltage, temperature and further inputs.

Cockerill takes EOS 2WD Q2

Schumacher’s Tom Cockerill took the second round of qualifying at the EOS in Poland making amends for a late start in Q1 when he broke his prototype Cougar in the warm-up.  Running a new set of Proline controlled tyres, the British driver topped the round with a time that was fractionally quicker than Joern Neumann’s Q1 pace. Neumann would be 3rd quickest second time round behind Durango team-mate Hupo Honigl.

Smokem Racing 417LX steering arms

Smokem Racing 417LX steering arms

Smokem Racing has just released their new 417LX steering arms. These 417LX steering arms are 2mm longer than those found standard on the TRF417 line of electric tourers. The extra length in these steering arms translates to a longer swing radius. Not only does this provide increased steering throw, it also gives a more linear steering response for superior driving feel. The 417LX steering arms come pre-fitted with metal-shielded ball bearings for an ultra smooth response. They suit all of Tamiya’s TRF417 and TRF416 lines of electric touring cars.

On the Grapevine – Ichihara

Grapevine Ichihara

Of all the traveling I do last week saw the combination of two elements that had me excited the minute I arrived in Dublin Airport for my latest trip – 1:8 Onroad and Japan.  I had only been to Japan once before when I traveled to the world famous Yatabe Arena 2-years ago. On that trip I got to spend a day sightseeing in Tokyo city and my biggest lasting impression was how friendly a nation the people were. Returning for the 1:8 Onroad World Championships at KeiTune Racing Speedway in Chiba once again the friendly reception was immediate.  Picked up from Narita Airport by our good friend Terutaka Hanaumi, who the JMRCA had enlisted as an interpreter for the week, when we arrived at the event it was like a whose who of the Japanese RC industry and not because they were there to race!
