Tamiya TT-02 & M-05 kit news

Last week we reported about exciting future Tamiya kit released but lacked proper photographs and now Tamiya Japan have released first images of some of the upcoming kits. First up is the Zakspeed Ford Capri Turbo Würth, a replica of the 1980’s Group 5 monster that dominated the German Sportscar Championship, the series that later became the famous DTM. The car builds on the entry-level TT-02 4WD shaft-driven tub chassis and not only features a nicely made Ford Capri Turbo body but also wide off-set multi-spoke rims to up the track width. Included with the kit comes a complete Würth design sticker sheet to mimic the car that ran the 1981 campaign.

Christian Wuntschek wins 200mm at Alpencup Rd3

The third round of the Alpencup was held at the Kematen track in Tirol. The race started under good weather conditions and it was Serpent driver Christian Wuntschek who took TQ in the 1/10th 200mm class after the qualifiers with Michael Wopfner pulling the fastest lap times but he was not able to run the 5 minute legs without refuelling. Unfortunately as the day went on a huge thunderstorm washed everything away and the race had to be cancelled for security reasons. This handed Christian Wuntschek the win of the third Alpencup round as the qualifying result was taken to appoint the winner.

5th annual Summer Showdown – Report

The fifth annual running of the Summer Showdown was at Clark RC Park just outside of Reeseville, WI. Running the show and on the microphone once again was the one and only Scotty Ernst, who ran a flawless program. The combination of a well groomed track and perfect weather all day made for great racing from qualifying to the A-Main. Qualifying was close and many TQ’s were set in the final round. 1/10 2wd Buggy saw Cole Tollard put on a display of amazing driving with his Associated buggy and take the TQ as the only driver to get a 9 lap run in the class. The main was not much different with Cole out pacing the field to take home the win. 2nd place would go to Michael Meister and 3rd place would be Ted Schmidt.
