Kazuya Tanaka wins Japanese National title

The 1/8 Off-road Japanese Championship was held last weekend in Matsuzaka and saw Kazuya Tanaka (Kyosho/Reds) put in a perfect qualifying run with with three TQs to take the top spot. Just after the start of the one hour final, Tanaka would loose first position due to a mistake but just ten minutes later he was able to catch the race leader make the pass. After that he lead to the end to win the National title ahead of Kyosho team mates Itaru Kawamoto and Takuya Kimura.

Ryan Lutz wins The Dirt Nitro Challenge Italy

The Dirt track at IBR Padova in Italy is one of the most amazing off-road racing facilities in the world. A custom built structure housing a track designed by the well known Joey ‘The Dirt’ Christensen, it all added up to a recipe for amazing racing. Team Durango drivers Jörn Neumann and Ryan Lutz showed their pace early in the chaotic practice and showed they would be a serious threat. In qualifying both Team Durango drivers had the pace to take TQ but bad luck saw Ryan 6th and Jörn 8th overall in qualifying.

The combos now feature a 2.4 GHz 3-channel radio system, Reedy 3300kV brushless motor, XP SC450-BL electronic speed control, Reedy 3000mAh WolfPack LiPo battery and Reedy 526-S AC/DC LiPo/LiFe Balance Charger.

Novarossi 3.5cc pull start rear cover

Novarossi have released this new rear cover for 3.5cc pull starter and roto starter engines. Suitable for long stroke and square stroke motors, the back plate allows the user to convert that engine into a starter box compatible version.

Jared Tebo dominates US Worlds warm-up

The 2012 A-Main Hobbies US World’s Warm-Up Race was held October 18th – 21st at Silver Dollar Raceway in Chico, CA. This would be a great tune-up race for some of the best US 1/8 nitro off-road buggy drivers. In attendance was: Current IFMAR 1/8 Buggy World Champion Cody King, Current IFMAR 1/8 Buggy Worlds TQ & 3rd Overall Jared Tebo, 2-time ROAR 1/8 Buggy National Champion Ryan Cavalieri, & Previous ROAR 1/8 Truggy National Champion Ryan Maifield.

Renaud Savoya wins C-Netic Challenge

Factory Xray/RB/Sweep driver Renaud Savoya made the second stop on his Asian Tour, hitting up the C-Netic Challenge race in Indonesia, getting in some last minute international running prior to the World Championships in 6 weeks time. Reno filed the following report. “Asian tour round 2. This time I flew to Surabaya, Indonesia for C-Netic challenge. From what I saw last year, the track seemed to be one of the most selective in the World. That came true as the layout was fully 3D, with 9 meters elevation on the back section. The club put a serious work together to get this done. Asian racing is probably one of the best place to race RC in the world as they have crazy layouts, professional marshals, awesome pit area etc.
