RDRP Durango 210 option parts

RDRP have released some new items for the popular Team Durango DEX210/DEST210 and DESC210 vehicles. First up for the DEX210 are the shock towers machined from high-quality 7075-T6 aluminium. Stronger, than any other plastic or carbon fibre part it´s simply impossible to break it. The additional holes for your shock-position will also help you for fine-tuning your car. The next item is the 7075-T6 aluminium steering plate, which fits the Team Durango DEX/DEST and DESC210 series. An additional hole at the front improves the Ackermann geometry a lot, especially in tight corners you will feel the difference. Finally the Brass RF suspension mount also fits all vehicles of the DEX/DEST and DESC210 series. With a weight of 30 grams it helps to plant the rear-end of your car on the track, especially in the MM configuration. First to be released is the 3/3 block with the 0/3 and 1.5/3 blocks to follow.

Andy Moore, Chris Grainger, Elliott Harper, Colin Price and Olly Jefferies all came to the final round at Mendip with a shot at securing the national title and it was Jefferies that got off to the best possible starts by taking TQ with his Associated TC6.1, behind Olly it was the LRP powered serpent of Chris Kerswell and the Tamiya of Elliott Harper, next up was the Hot Bodies of Andy Moore. John Bruins joins Kyosho TC team

Kyosho have announced that front running Dutch driver John Bruins has joined their 1/10 electric Touring Car team. Winning the stock class at the ETS race in Apeldoorn in 2011, John also had a fantastic season in the Dutch Nationals this year. The highlight of his year was making the B-Main and finishing in 15th position at the IFMAR World Championships during the Summer. John will join already well known team mates like Christopher Krapp and fellow countryman Vaasco Christiaanse and to power his car he will stay with Team Orion that are already supporting him for many years. John had the following to say about his move:

First of all I would like to thank everybody at Kyosho for providing me with this great opportunity. Kyosho is known for manufacturing fantastic products and as of now I am proud to say I will be part of such a dedicated group of people. The TF6 SP is one of the best touring cars out there and I can’t wait to put it through its paces. Last but certainly not least, I would like to thank my mechanic, for without his help none of this would have been possible.

Delaunay wins Rd5 as Christiany takes French title

The 5th and final round of the French 1/8th Classique championship took place on the brand new Ingrande track last weekend. There was very good weather but the track conditions were not very good and so it was quite difficult to find the right set-up. Local driver Romain Delaunay found the perfect setup and put his Motonica on pole position ahead of Serge Christiany in 2nd and Julen Mathieu in 3rd. The beginning of the 45 minute final was difficult for Romain Delaunay and ended up at the back of the field but he fought back and took over the lead at the half way point in the race. Both Serge and Romain changed rear tires during this final and that is the order it would finish as Delaunay took the win 2 laps in front of Christiany in 2nd while Jean-François Rouanet was 3rd. This result gave Serge Christiany the French National title.

Thanks to Jeff Rouanet for the report.

Christophe Louis takes French 1/8th Elite title

The final round of the French Cup for 1/8th scale was held on the Amiens track, which while is not technical is very demanding for engines with 70% max power. The National title was already won by Ramella Pairin in the 4th round but in the Elite class Christophe Louis and Anthony Abisset were still in with a chance of taking the title. In the National qualifications it was Maxime Tenet, Stéphane Bertrand and Faisal Affejee taking the top three places. In the Elite class it wasn’t until the 3rd round of qualifying when Richard Volta, back after a one year break, set the pole position time. For other drivers the 3rd round was also quickest at temperatures improved, with Romain Picard taking second place, followed by Anthony Abisset and Christophe Louis who were only 0.3 seconds apart.
