The second round of the Greek national championship took place at the Arena Race Track. After the four qualification rounds three Shepherd drivers were placed into the A final and three into the B final. In the A final Sidiropoulos and Likaris took second and third place at the grid. After some thrilling 45 minutes the winner of the A final was Bill Likaris some three laps ahead of Sotiropoulos in second place with Christodoulou completing the podium in third place. …Floudas with his well prepared TLR22 and third was Jim Amaxas being the best mid motor 2wd buggy of the day with his C4.1. The SC category was new for this year with a field dominated by HPI Blitz cars and the battle was great to the last final. It was Spiros Sotiropoulos that went home with the win and Dionisis Sikianakis and George Mouzouris ending second and third respectively. Giannis Sotiropoulos has taken yet another victory in Greece with his Serpent 733 TE, this time at the last round of the Greek championship. Taking the win by over a lap from second, Giannis had carried forward his qualifying pace, where he was able to claim pole position, into the main final and could lead the race from beginning to end. Last weekend saw the 1st round of the Greek 1/10 scale 200mm nitro Championship held at the Arena Racing Track. The weather was sunny but come the start of the 4th and last qualifying heat heavy rain started to pour down forcing the race director to stop the race and using the qualification ranking list as the final result. Therefore TQ Kostas Zacharopoulos (Mugen) was announced the winner, some 1.6 seconds ahead John Sotiropoulos (Serpent), Vaggelis Totomis (Kyosho) and Soyias Stavros (Serpent). Final result 1. Last weekend the first round of the Greek 1/8 On road Championship was held in Athens at the Arena Racing club. A well attended event, the race was won by the pole man Kostas Zacharopoulos driving a Blitz shod Mugen, taking the fastest lap, to win ahead of 5 time Greek Champion John Sotiropoulos in 2nd, driving a Serpent. The Greek 1/10th A Championship took place last weekend at the FRT track in Athens in warm temperatures. Qualifying went the way of Shepherd driver Kostas Sidiropoulos, with Bill Lykaris in 2nd and John Sotiropoulos in 3rd. Following a call for 10 minutes prior to the final for Kostas Zacharopoulos, the race got underway with the front running drivers maintaining their position. Following some collisions in the pitlane for Sidiropoulos and Sotiropoulos and a penalty for the second placed driver, it was Mugen driver Kostas Zacharopoulos who made it to the front at about the 10th minute. The ELME Greek National Cup for 1/8 On Road took place last weekend at the Montelodromio Track in Patra. In qualifying it was Serpent racer John Sotiropoulos that took the pole position winning all 4 rounds of qualifying to line up ahead Kyosho driver Vangelis Totomis in 2nd and John Doukakis in 3rd fro Motonica. In the final it was Sotiropoulos who would come out on top by 2 laps ahead of Totomis in 2nd with another Serpent driver Antreas Makrigeorgios in 3rd. Thanks to Kostas Nikolaou for the report….

…delay in the morning to allow the track to dry, there were 4 rounds of qualifying and it was Sotiropoulos that took the TQ spot for Serpent ahead of team mate Farmakis in 2nd and Kyosho driver Totomis in 3rd. In the race the battle was between Sotiropoulos and Totomis until the rain came again to the track and changed everything. Fortunately it was just for a minute and grip was built again after a short while. Sotiropoulos held on for the win with Tortomis close to a lap behind in 2nd, with Arkoumanis Giannis taking 3rd.
