Stafford wins 4wd National Indoor Finals

Following on from the oOple report from Saturday’s 2wd class at the BRCA National Indoor series in Worksop, comes the results from the 4wd class that was held on Sunday. With 94 racers participating, including 2 of the new Schumacher Cat SX buggies, it was National Champion Lee Martin that took the TQ spot ahead of Saturday’s 2wd winner Neil Cragg in 2nd and X-Factory racer Ellis Stafford in 3rd. Following some really close racing, which meant 4 racers were still in contention for the overall win going into the 3rd leg of the A-final, it was Ellis Stafford that came out on top, just ahead of Lee Martin in 2nd and Richard Lowe taking 3rd.

EFRA Homologated Bodies 1:8 IC Track

EFRA Homologated Bodies 1:10 IC Track

On Friday we published the list of the approved 1/10th scale body shells and informed everyone that EFRA will be very strict in checking these to ensure that they are indeed EFRA approved. We have now received a similar list of the 1/8th scale body shells, from Sander de Graaf, who also informs us that in order to compete in an EFRA sanctioned event the body homologation number must be embossed in the body, preceeded by the word “EFRA”. If this is not the case, you will not be allowed to use that bodyshell at an EFRA race, even if it had been approved in the past.

Mark Green wins BRCA 200mm Rd1

Mark Green wins BRCA 200mm Rd1

The opening round of the BRCA 1/10th scale 200mm Nationals was held last weekend at the Aldershot track under dry but very overcast conditions. Qualifying for the 45 drivers present, saw Serpent racer Mark Green take the top qualifying position in front of new Xray signing Darren Johnson in 2nd and his team mate Mark Gilliland in 3rd. In the final it was Johnson that got the holeshot with Mark slotting into the 2nd spot, and the 2 would battle it out for the entire race, swapping the lead a number of times. It looked like it would be a super close finish but a small mistake by Darren going on to the straight allowed Mark through and he could push a bit more to extend the lead at the end to about 4 seconds in front of the Johnson, with Gilliland having a steady run in 3rd a lap further back.
