Dakotah Phend double at JConcepts Turf Nationals

Last weekend saw the JConcepts Turf Nationals held at RC Madness in Enfield, Connecticut. Held on their very nicely presented astro turf track, the event attracted a quality field. Qualifying saw TLR/JConcepts driver Dakotah Phend take the top spot in both mod 4wd and 2wd, with the Team Associated pairing of Alex Kosciuszek and Dustin Evans completing the top 3 of the grid in 2wd, while in 4wd it was Alex K and TLR driver Aaaron Kothman. In the most popular class 17.5 2wd, Andrew Bishop came out on top from John Cravotta and Kaiden Voss, and in 13.5 4wd it was again Bishop on top, this time with Mike Rowley completing qualifying in 2nd and John Cravotta in 3rd. With the mod classes getting triple mains, Dakotah Phend was unchallenged and could take the overall win early with victories in both classes in the first 2 mains. In 2wd it was Alex K that took the runner up spot with Aaron Kothman completing the podium in 3rd, while in 2wd Kothman could go one better and get 2nd place behind his TLR team mate, with Dustin Evans in 3rd. The 17.5 2wd class was a single main that was won from 4th on the grid by Robert Smith, ahead of 9th placed starter Tom Bishop and 8th placed starter Aaron Rowley in 2nd and 3rd respectively as the top 3 starters ended the race in the final 3 positions. 4wd 13.5 was better for pole man Andrew Bishop as he won from Mike Rowley, with Brandon Campbell a man on the move to come from 6th to take 3rd at the flag.

TLR 22X-4 servo mount set V2

In an effort to give more clearance for servos of all makes and offsets in the 22X-4, Team Losi Racing has released the 22X-4 servo mount set V2.  This mount set moves the aluminium mounting faces back by 3mm and includes spacers to allow a proper fit for any model of surface servo.  This gives more room for the servo horn to the mud guard and body so there will be no interference during steering travel.

Team Associated RC8T3.2e EP truggy team kit

Having only just announced the RC8T3.2, Team Associated followed up quickly with the release of the new RC8T3.2e, a car that shares many of its new features with its nitro counterpart. Again, the new longer suspension arms utilise the narrow arm mounts from the RC8B3.2 for increased traction and stability. Bottom-loaded suspension arm inserts provide adjustable flex and increase durability, while keeping the arms free of debris and easy to clean. A new rear shock tower has been developed to work with the new suspension arm geometry. A 3-piece centre bulkhead allows for easy access to the centre differential and makes adjustments even faster. Updated shock caps allow the RC8T3.2e to be run with the included new stiff bladders, optional standard bladders, or as emulsion with no bladders, all with the same cap. The side guards have also been improved by using countersunk screws that thread into the chassis from the top of the truck, which greatly improves alignment to the chassis.

JConcepts tire break-in drill adaptor kit

One of the most used tools on the 1/10th off-road racing scene, JConcepts presents their new tire break-in device. It’s a pretty simple combination of a standard hex drive shaft for a typical drill but extended and given some lock driven flats, the simple item turns into a very useful tool around the track. An aluminium 12mm and 17mm hex adaptor slides over the shaft to give racers the option of which type of vehicle (1/10th or 1/8th) they are preparing tires for. The flywheel nut features a large diameter for grip and adjustment and the ability to flip directions for deeper dish shaped wheels. It also has stealth black anodising, laser etched JConcepts.net logo, grippy knurling and a lightened design for quick function and easy storage.
