Pro-Line Caliber 2.0 SC M2 tires

Pro-Line have released their new Caliber 2.0 SC 2.2”/3.0” M2 (Medium) Tires for Slash, Slash 4×4, SC10, Blitz and Ultima Front or Rear. The Caliber 2.0 SC takes tire technology to the next level by optimizing traction, control, balance and tire wear with its dual-stage design and wider contact patch. The smaller top pin penetrates through loose dirt while delivering unbelievable side and forward bite. The base pin works as a support for the top pin while acting as a dual-stage design once the top pin is worn down. You can rely on the base pin for greater tread life wear and it works well on those tracks that are prone to blue-groove or have a super clean surface.

Pro-Line Flo-Tek SC body

Pro-Line have introduced the Flo-Tek body for Slash, Slash 4X4, SC10, Ultima SC and Blitz, the first SC body specifically designed to eliminate the short-course body parachute effect. If you have ever raced or bashed a short-course truck, you know that SC bodies act like parachutes when going over jumps, causing you to lose control and crash. Pro-Line’s new Flo-Tek SC body features futuristic styling coupled with large vent holes that allow air to flow through, eliminating aerodynamic drag. The locations and size of the vents were designed to maximize air flow through the body while keeping the aggressive and high-tech look.

Boca Bearings MX Engine bearings

Boca Bearings MX Engine bearings

Boca Bearings is pleased to announce their new and expanded line of MX Engine bearings for radio controlled engines. RC engines have evolved and become even more powerful. Today they use more nitro fuel and come under greater thrust loads than in the past. The nitro content can dry the thin stock bearing retainer very quickly making the whole bearing susceptible to premature failure when subjected to high radial and thrust loads. These MX bearings have a unique and new internal design to increase load capabilities that allows them to work under harsher operations where shafts come under excessive side and radial load. These bearings are available in both a standard high-speed version with either chrome steel balls or races, or as a ceramic hybrid, with ceramic balls and chrome races. For a limited time Boca Bearing will be offering an additional $10 discount on all MX bearing kits. Full bearing kits are available for engines such as Nova Rossi .21/12/15/21/28 size engines, OS 15/18/20/21/25/26/28/30/32/37/40 size engines, Picco 15/21/28/40/45 size engines, Collari, Sirio and more.

McPappy Racing Brushless Dyno

McPappy Racing Brushless Dyno

Today’s brushless racing introduced new variables, such as mechanical timing, speedo timing, RPM ranges, rotor diameters on top of the rollout variable. The new McPappy Racing DIY Brushless Dyno helps you to make sense of some of that. This dyno platform will allow you to test your motors against a brushless slave motor that provides consistent resistance from test to test. It was designed to accommodate multiple test configurations: direct coupler in between both motors, direct coupler with flywheel in between both motors, offset the motors using 2 pinions, offset the motors using 2 pinions flywheel. The flywheel provides inertia resistance and the brushless slave provides constant resistance. Together they reproduce similar track resistance. The key component to this dyno platform is a huge piece of 1/4″ 6061 aluminum which acts as a giant heat sink. Two large fans and all of that aluminum mass will bring the temperature of the motors and resistors back down to room temperature very quickly.  This allows you to run many tests very quickly. To find your most powerful motor and speedo combination is actually quite simple. Your overall goal is to spin the flywheel and slave motor as fast as you can with the least amount of amp draw. The McPappy Racing DIY Brushless Dyno can help you do just that. You will be able to find your strongest motors and most efficient combination of mechanical timing, speedo timing, RPM ranges, and rotor diameters.

Nitro Runtime Android App

Nitro Runtime Android App

Fresh from the mind of Jesse Robbers and developed by Jared Kirkwood is an Android phone app that precisely calculates the runtime of your nitro powered R/C vehicle, yet is very simple to use and understand. Pit strategy is often overlooked, and if done incorrectly can result in lost time or track position due to excessive pit stops. To use this app you enter in a few numbers and it will tell you your maximum runtime (empty fuel tank). The app will also calculate your pit strategy for your main event race, listing the recommended times that you should pit given your runtime and also the amount of runtime ‘difference’ that you have to work with. The app also provides information for a ‘risk it’ pit strategy which can be used if you are feeling confident based on your maximum runtime and the race length.
