Parma have dropped their new 1/10th scale 190mm Mohawk Sedan body, designed specifically for carpet racing. Based on the Alfa Romeo it is available in 2 versions, standard and lightweight, and according to Paul Ciccarello of Parma the new body works exceptionally well giving good steering yet is still very easy to drive. Expect to see it in the shops by the new year.
I like when people mod their racing machines especially when they try and tweak an already manufacturer optimised machine so it was great when i was tipped off to this guys Serpent 960 mod. As far as i can work out, this is a weight distribution mod as the creator ‘Got the Grip’ from RC Tech is using a small throttle servo that allows him to move it closer to the tank. He has created a single plate to mount both servos and an AMB personal transponder, although not in the optimal orientation, and has also created a new narrower radio plate too. The only thing that lets it down, besides the photography, is the use of flat head screws, really unforgivable.
The guys over at the RC Pro Series have asked us to post an announcement for their 3 round 2007 Florida Nitro Off-road Series. There is a purse of $1000+ for the Expert class and overall entries are limited to 150 people so get your entry in soon.
Kyosho have announced the release of their latest range of cars in their ultra successful Mini-Z line of 1/24th scale racers. Nascar is of course immensely popular Stateside, and Kyosho have realised that it would be a clever decision to make officially licensed cars to sell to the fans of this class of racing. As always the attention to detail and scale looks are what makes the mini-z cars stand out and these oval racers are no different.
NASCAR, the most popular racing series in the US, has teamed up with Kyosho to produce the only hobby-grade, officially licensed NASCAR RC cars available in the world. The Kyosho team visited the racing development facilities of many of the top NASCAR racing teams, and even attended NASCAR events, all in an effort to ensure that the bodies include exceptional detail that is unmatched in accuracy and scale.
Yokomo have announced the release of a new electronic speed controller suitable for the increasingly popular smaller classes of racing cars, anything from 1/20th – 1/16th scale. Called the SCR18M this lightweight unit is recommended for use with 4-6 cells (4.8V to 7.2V) and at only 20 x 26 x 16mm is also one tiny speedo and should therfore cause no headaches when trying to find a place to mount it in your car.

Xray have a report on their site from the first round of the R1GP Winter Attack Indoor Carpet Race held in South Korea and organised by our site partners RC Forum. This race was held on a great carpet track in the Olympic Gymnastic Stadium in Seoul and saw 90 people attend which was also the debut race for the new Xray T2007 in Korea. After Xray dominating the proceedings it was a crash between the two leading Xray racers Mun Yong and Ryan Lee that allowed Jang-JiHyun driving a HB to take the win with Lee in 2nd and Xray racer Seo-Dongil in 3rd.
