Buggy-Sport have the scoop on the new Sirio Kanai Evo III STI 3.5cc off road motor. Now we don’t know whose car this is in but the engine is seen in a Kyosho buggy and because of the timing we reckon it was taken at last weekends ‘GP International De Pierrefeu‘. Now Sirio employee and Kyosho racer Adrien Bertin was there so we are going to call it and say that this is his car….just like that (we’ll write a correction when found to be wrong :). By the way Adrien finished 9th after some problems in the final.
Now, if you haven’t yet had your fill of off road buggies, here is a video from Robin Frischkopf from the 5th round of the Swiss Championships held back in September. Apart from the not very appealing country/rock music its a pretty good video, made at what seems to be a very rough track.
Rodrigo Luis has TQ’d and won last weekends Torres Vedras Cup held in Portugal driving a Picco powered Hong Nor. Buggy-Sport.info have the full story with a statement from Rodrigo himself:
“In the qualification i made TQ after 3 rounds, i only made 2 of them and i TQ booth. In the main final, i managed to get 1st place after a bad start and an engine cut in the middle of the final. I had to fight hard with the very good driver Fernando Almeida to get the 1st place.”
As we reported yesterday Xray/RB racer Yannik Aigoin has won the GP International De Pierrefeu held in France. This international event attracted over 110 racers and saw the European Champion win by two laps ahead of a close battle for 2nd place between Julian Lattanzio and Renaud Savoya. After 45 minutes only 2 tenths of a second seperated the two drivers and in the end it was Julian that took the position with Renaud in third.
You can view the results sheets and a lot more pictures from the event here.
Neo-Buggy has got our backs once more with the news that European B Champion Riccardo Acciari from Italy will switch from OS motors to the GRP made Falcon engines effective immediately.
2006 Euro-B champion; Riccardo Acciari will be moving from using OS engines to the GRP produced Falcon engines. Riccardo was present at the Pierrefeu GP this past weekend, he finished 16th overall. Riccardo as he has shown this year is one of the many exciting talents emerging from Italy.
Just a quick update before we get the full results and images for 2 events that took place this weekend. The first up is the ‘AMT Cup Modellbau Bodensee’ indoor event held in Friedrichshafen, Germany. This event for 1/10th 200mm attracted racers from Germany, Holland and Austria and was won by Austrian Serpent racer Daniel Tomaschko with his 720. Daniel had qualified 4th for the event which saw fellow Austrian driver Gerhard Kandelhart take the pole position for the main event.
The ‘GP International De Pierrefeu’ was also held this weekened in France and this off road event saw top racers from around Europe competing for the win but in the end it was European Champion Yannick Aigoin who took the win driving his Xray XB8.

Xray have a brief report on their site concerning the recent Brazilian electric Carioca Championship that they are now leading after winning rounds 1 and 2.
Braz Spinato of XRAY TEAM BRASIL won all the heats and won round 2 of the Carioca Championship, and is now leading the championship with 8 points ahead the 2nd place driver Sylvio Padinha (also from XRAY TEAM BRASIL). In 3rd place is Khelmo Freitas of XRAY TEAM BRASIL, too.
Just before this weekends EFRA meeting in Brussels, Sander de Graaf of EFRA published the 30 driver A-list which is based on results from EFRA events and also IFMAR World Championship. As with the 1/10th version we mentioned before this ranking really only tells us whose not allowed race at the EFRA ‘B’ events and beyond that has little merit except perhaps braggin rights.
