Volker fastest in Q2 in Austria

Volker fastest in Q2 in Austria

Ronald Volker has TQ’d the second qualifier for the Austrian round of the Yokomo Euro Touring Series topping the time sheets from David Ehrbar and Marc Rheinard.  The Yokomo/LRP driver said a change to the Protoform LTC-R bodyshell gave his BD5 more steering but he didn’t make the most of it, making too many small mistake during the five minute run.  Chasing his third consecutive overall TQ honours, the European Champion thinks with the LTC-R his set-up is good and any extra pace will come from how he prepares his tyres.

GRP M04 Grip tire for 1/8th buggies

Following many tests and trials, GRP have launched their new M04 Grip tire for 1/8th buggies. The tire features a special design pin to guarantee high grip also under dirty and dusty conditions. This design guarantees a long tread life too, also on very high-wear tracks, keeping a high-level and steady grip. A very rounded profile makes it a very smooth and fast tire, but very easy to drive, while the internal carcass ribbing reduces tire expansion at high speed, leading to better stability of the model and driving precision. Available in 3 different compounds X-A-B, with a special orange or black molded insert.

Factory Team Associated driver Keven Hébert has got his Euro Touring Series debut off to an impressive start with his TC6 setting the fastest lap around the indoor asphalt track here in St.Polten, Austria. The first Canadian to take part in an ETS event, Hébert managed an 16.285 second lap on a track which he described as being a lot bigger than he was used to racing on in US racing scene. Pleased with his lap time, the 22-year-old said he needed to be more consistent but feels a second run should help him settle in better to the unfamiliar settings in particular the height of the drivers rostrum which by American standards towers above the track.

Xray Multi-Diff T3 LiPo

Xray Multi-Diff T3 LiPo

The new version of the Multi-Diff from Xray, called the Multi-Diff T3 LiPo has 3 different settings, standard one-way, solid one-way and solid axle. The lightweight one-way outdrives are manufactured from Hudy Spring Steel and have a hex-slot machined at each end, into which a lightweight machined steel hex-style locking axle can be inserted into both outdrives to lock them together. This allows the creation of a solid one-way, meaning that both outdrives turn freely together as a one-way (at the same time), thus creating a solid one-way off-power. To create a full-time solid axle, a strong steel pin is inserted through aligned holes in the main aluminum body of the Multi-Diff and the steel locking axle. This locks the outdrives completely, creating a full-time solid axle. Includes factory-pressed (non-replaceable) high-quality German one-way bearings, hand-ground for maximum running precision and strength.
