Factory Team SC10 lightweight ball differential

Team Associated have announced the introduction of the Factory Team ball differential specifically designed for the SC10. Once built, the differential fits directly into the stock SC10 transmission case without any modifications. Racers have long enjoyed the handling benefits that a ball differential offers. For nearly 30 years, competition electric off-road cars have been equipped with them, and for good reason, ball differentials improve handling consistency over bumpy surfaces while increasing cornering capabilities. Each outdrive is machined from hardened steel for exceptional durability, then lightened to reduce rotating mass. The outdrives are also available separately so that current T4 and B4 differentials can be upgraded for use in the SC10.

Jesse Robbers does double at CRCRC MWNC

Jesse Robbers does double at CRCRC MWNC

Having already briefly written about the CRCRC Midwest Nitro Champs, Hot Bodies are reporting that in the electric 1/8 class their team driver Jesse Robbers qualified 2nd with the Ve8 and took the win. Even with electronic problems plaguing him all weekend Jesse was able to hold onto his lead and go on to win the race from Associated team manager Brent Thielke. In nitro buggy qualifying Jesse and Ryan Maifield traded 1st position several times but in the main Jesse was able to drive better average lap times and make less mistakes and so was able to build up a big gap to Maifield in 2nd position.

Bickerstaff claims Irish Touring Car Series Rd1

Bickerstaff claims Irish Touring Car Series Rd1

The opening round of the 2010 Irish Touring Car Series took place in Bangor, Northern Ireland, over the weekend where it was defending Champion Alan Bickerstaff who claimed the win. Attracting a healthy entry, the event saw Bickerstaff put his Novak powered Associated TC5 on pole after a determined TQ run in the final qualifier. The opening Leg of the A-Main saw the Team Associated British Championship team driver lead early on followed by the Tamiya’s of Mark Gilliland and Keith Dempsey but 2 minutes in Bickerstaff came undone as he tried to pass a back marker. This handed Gilliland the race lead but with a minute left on the clock he ‘binned it’ allowing Bickerstaff back through to take the win with Dempsey completing the Top 3. In the second leg Bickerstaff had a straight run through to victory as Gilliland and Dempsey fought over second. Having held second for the early part of the race Dempsey could not hold off Gilliland who eventually found a way passed but it was too late for him to mount a challenge for the win meaning the podium was a reflection of the Top 3 starting order. Having started from the back of the grid John Matthews enjoyed one of his best ever performances to finish fourth overall.
