Kyle Branson wins Rd4 of British Nationals

Kyle Branson wins Rd4 of British Nationals

For the fourth round of the BRCA 1/10th 200mm National championship it was held at Snetterton circuit in Norfolk and Kyle Branson sent us this report. The weather was good however the traction was not so great at the start, but with around 60 cars there on saturday the grip soon came up. It was Mark Green and Kyle Branson who were setting the fastest laps through most of Saturday, my car was good for most of the day with a few little adjustments making it a little better. Sunday morning was cooler and it looked like there was a hint of drizzle during the day, however this wasnt the case as within an hour the sun was out. In round 1 Mark took TQ, I made a mistake which ruined my run of getting 25 laps, with me in second and John Zottl in third. In the second round Mark was still on TQ just ahead of me in second, I couldn’t improve on my time due to having a problem. In the last round I managed to improve and get TQ just under a second ahead of Mark in second and Joe Kerry in third.

Barry Baker takes coast-to-coast wins for O’Donnell

Barry Baker takes coast-to-coast wins for O'Donnell

O’Donnell are reporting on their coast-to-coast adventure which began at the incredible RC Excitement facility in Fitchburg, MA, for the first annual O’Donnell East Coast Championship. During qualifying, East Coast factory O’Donnell team driver Mike Wilder showed that having the home track advantage does pay off. He piloted his brand new Z01-B SG buggy to the TQ position over West Coast superstar and factory O’Donnell driver Barry Baker. Not to be outdone, Baker went on to take the TQ spot in e-buggy with the Z01-E SG and the TQ spot in truggy as well, with his Z01-T SG. In the main events, however, Baker put on a driving clinic with the new line of SG vehicles from O’Donnell racing to claim victory. The following day, it was back on a plane to the West Coast for the annual O’Donnell West Coast Championships at the world-famous Revelation Raceway in Montclair, CA. During qualifying, O’Donnell Fuel driver Dylan Rodriguez lay down the TQ in both buggy and truggy. When the main events rolled around, it was a whole different story. The top spot changed hands throughout the race. In the end, O’Donnell factory driver Barry Baker, fresh off of his truggy win out East, let them know who the boss was as he piloted his O’Donnell Z01-T SG to victory over his O’Donnell teammate Mike Moralez.

Darren Bloomfield wins Bittydesign contest 2010

Darren Bloomfield wins Bittydesign contest

Last weekend saw the second running of the Bittydesign contest in Barco di Bibbiano in Italy. With 180 entries, and 130 actual drivers, the race saw drivers from Spain, Czech Republic, Germany, UK, Switzerland, Austria and of course Italy, with official factory team Losi drivers like Ricki Rabitti and Darren Bloomfield present, as well as top Spanish driver Richi Gomez in attendance. With a DJ set, awesome trophy girl, free cocktail party and giveaways donated by the event sponsors, this is not your standard race. The racing saw a cool race format which is aimed at being as spectacular as possible with the top drivers having to qualify through Superpole as well as a last chance qualifier just like in US supercross. The A-main was a great race to see, with the front runners putting on an amazing show. After 45 minutes it was Bloomfield that took the win, with Rabitti in 2nd place, 20 seconds behind. Gomez took 3rd position after a race with lot of spectacular passes. Everyone agreed that the event has been a great success, and there has already been some international rumors for next year.

Faistenau Hill-Climbing Event

Faistenau Hill-Climbing Event

Last weekend saw 1st Hill-Climbing Event for RC-cars in Faistenau at Hacksteiner-Hills for RC cars in the region of Salzburg/Austria. The event was organized by Christoph Stopper and Willi Rinnerthaler who found a perfect location and made also very simple rules. Every driver had 3 minutes for their heats (2x qualifying and 2x final – the best result in final counts) to get as high as possible or in the case of a ‘Full Hill’ the time would also count. As long the car drives up the hill the time is running, if a car stops the time will be on paused and the height will be measured and after measuring the time will start again and the car has to go back to the starting line downhill.

Hudy Super Diff Grease

Hudy’s new Super Diff Grease is a high-performance, model racing car general-purpose silicone-based grease. With a thicker viscosity than standard diff grease, it stays on the diff plates longer, prolonging diff lifespan. It is especially well-suited for use in ball differentials and thrust bearings and is recommended for any heavy-duty application where high pressures or loads are present. The silicone grease operates within a large temperature range and works under extreme conditions over 100°C.
