12hr Tamiya Marathon Hungary

Last weekend saw the 12 hours Tamiya Marathon held in Nagydorog, Hungary, organised by the Hungarian Tamiya Dealer. The endurance race was held for the second time, after a very successful first event last winter. The race also was the 1st Round of the Hungarian Endurance Championship and started 08:00 with the kit cars handed to the teams for building which was also included to the race time. Just like at the old Le-Mans races where the racers had to run across the track to jump into their cars with the exception that their cars were already built. The rules were not changed from the previous year, each team this year got a 2007 Subaru Impreza TT-01 kit, which had to be assembled, painted and stickered. The only difference was the colour of the bodies. Two Mabuchi 540 motor and two sets of Take-Off tires were allowed to use, in case of broken parts only one of each could be changed without extra penalty (certain percentage from the total laps were subtracted at the end).

Alberto Garcia takes Victory at Madrid opener

Last weekend the first round of Madrid Regional Championship 2009/2010 was held in Villanueva and with a newly rebuilt track there were 94 drivers taking part. After qualification it was new Mugen/Ninja driver and multiple Spanish Champion Alberto García that was the top qualifier followed by OCM racer Javi Pombo and Losi driver Felix Zamorano. Alberto Garcia dominated the main final, getting the fastest lap using PL Caliber M3 and took the victory two laps in front of a very competitive Javi Pombo, while Ramón Nuño took the final podium spot in third.

RC4WD Rockbull 1/8 scale competition crawler

I wont pretend to know anything about Rock crawling but seemingly many people have said that the super size crawler is a ‘thing of the past’ or has ‘died. Crawling specialists RC4WD have never given up on this class and have been working to bring new items like tires, wheels and axles to the super class community and now they have a complete super class kit. Introducing the new Rockbull 1/8 scale competition crawler kit, the first competition super class crawler with pendulum weighted adjustable beadlock wheels, Rok Lok 4.0 tires and advanced alloy Super Bully axle. Xceed RC range of Exhaust springs

Xceed RC have released a whole range of exhaust springs made from high quality spring steel. The short ones above are of course for the connections between header and pipe of inline systems, while the long ones go around the case and connect the header to the case. Tested by Xceed team racers for months, they have been found to be durable and resistant to damage from vibrations. All the different types of springs are available for both .12/15 and .21 on and off road systems and come in packs of 3.

Euro Touring Series – Round 2

After a successful opening round in Kastellaun, the next round of the Xenon Racing backed Euro Touring Series moves on to the beautiful city of Budapest in Hungary on November 27/28. Making its first appearance on the ETS calendar last season, the race produced one of champion elect Jilles Groskamp’s greatest passing maneuvers as he overtook Toni Rheinard on the last corner of the last lap of the third leg of the A-Main to secure the overall victory. Like the season opener, there will be a strong line-up of team drivers making the trip to the Dabas-Diego Sports Centre. Heading that entry is championship leader Viktor Wilck, who will be joined by his World Champion Tamiya team mate Marc Rheinard. Xray will be in attendance with Martin Hudy, who finished the event on the podium last year, and their young charger Elliot Harper. Associated will be armed with Juho Levanen who showed very strongly with his TC5R in Kastellaun, qualifying third on the grid with a TQ run in Q3. 2006 World Champion Andy Moore is also confirmed.
