Chrissi Krapp and Alex Stocker take German titles

The German Electric outdoor touring car Nationals were held last weekend at the Weser-Ring in Hann. Persistent rain destroyed the event for some national top drivers but the event was run regardless and in the Modified class, 16 year old Chrissi Krapp took TQ with a brilliant last heat, lining up ahead of Vice World Champion Ronald Völker with Steven Weiss 3rd. Winning the first two A-mains with his Team Orion powered Kyosho Stallion Shin edition, Chrissi once more demonstrated the form that gave him 8th place overall during this summer’s European Championships. Yokomo team driver Ronald Völker took the runner up spot with Xray driver Steven Weiss taking the final podium spot in 3rd.

Jilles Groskamp joins Team Shepherd

Shepherd have announced that European Electric touring car driver Jilles Groskamp will use Shepherd Micro Racing cars for nitro racing, racing both classes, 1/10th scale and 1/8th scale. With his experience as a professional driver he will help the German company to improve their existing products and developing new products. Jilles had the following to say:

After looking to many teams and many people, Shepherd stood out as a small team which works really hard to improve things. They are still some kind of a “newcomer” in the nitro scene but the Velox V8 is already established all over the world. I could already test it and I was really impressed. Probably the V10 project will be even more fun for myself as I feel better with a 1/10 touring car. With all the fast improvements they can realize I can test a lot of different things and get ready for the big races. I’m really looking forward to work together with them and I hope my feedback helps in creating great products.

CSO Products 733 CVDs & Radio plate bracket

New from CSO Products are these optional parts for the Serpent 733. For the transmission of the car are these hard coated aluminium CVD shafts which are a lightweight and direct replacement for the standard versions. Also new for the 733 is a lightweight CNC machined 7075 T6 aluminium radio plate mounting bracket.

KM Racing NT1 20T Brake pulley

KM Racing continue to release new products with the introduction of this new 20T aluminium brake pulley for the Xray NT1. The pulley has been hard anodised, yet is super lightweight and its design, along with finish, help prevent the accumulation of dust in the pulley.

Team Epic Low profile 4mm Connectors

Team Epic have introduced these low profile 4mm gold plated bullet connectors. These new connectors allow for more body and chassis clearance and the design of the male connector is such that there is a notch that allows the wire to be soldered on at 90 degrees to the connector itself making for a lower profile set-up. Available in sets, pairs and also just as the male battery ends.

Pro-Line Closed cell Foam inserts & new tire options

Continuing on with the recent releases by Pro-Line, the US company have introduced some new items for 1/8th scale off road vehicles. First up are these closed cell foam inserts that feature channels to capture the tire so the carcass flex is kept to a minimum. This removes air gaps in between the tire and ensures it is perfectly balanced. This can also be re used which is just in time for Pro-Line’s next release which are ‘a la carte’ tires that means you can now buy your favourite thread and compound in a set of 4, without foam. Finally you can now also get your favourite VTR 4.0″ threads pre mounted on zero offset yellow and white Velocity VTR rims.

The organisers of the 2009/2010 BRCA 12th Nationals have been in touch, to notify everyone that the entry form is now available to download. With only a month to go until the first round, the class has seen a lot of popularity already this year.
