Arthur Eelen wins Belgian Blackjack race

Last Sunday saw the annual Blackjack race held in Belgium. Open to 1/8th scale off road cars it uses a Reedy style format where there are only finals, 3 to be exact and all of them 21 minutes long, hence the race name. The length of the finals, astroturf surface and pit strategy tactics meant racing was very close. Arthur Eelen managed to take the win in the Truggy class driving his Associated RC8T ahead of Losi driver Kris Verlies in 2nd and Bas de Konink in 3rd with a HongNor.

DE Racing MP9 & MBX-6 Skid plates

We’ve covered a number of skid plates from DE Racing and today they have released versions for the Kyosho Inferno MP9 and Mugen MBX-6 (above) buggies. Made of ultra thin resin, eliminating the need for longer screws, the plates provide protection for your expensive 1/8th scale buggy or truggy chassis. The plate, which are supplied in a bag of three, wears just like aluminum but is much cheaper to replace than a complete chassis.

Cragg & Lowe win Worksop Indoor Rd2

oOple are reporting on the 2nd round of the Schumacher Indoor Off Road Masters series held at the fantastic Worksop venue. With an expanded entry of 150 drivers split between 2WD and 4WD classes, it was even more hotly contested than the previous round. Danny McGee took the TQ in 2WD with the Losi XXXCR but after a tough and intense battle it was Neil Cragg that managed to take the win. Previous round winner Tom Yardy came in second and local hero James Helliwell 3rd. Four different drivers and four different chassis’ each won a round during 4WD qualifying – Simon Moss, Paul Bradby, Richard Lowe and Danny McGee. It was Worksop regular and indoor-specialist Richard Lowe that took overall TQ however. Unlike the exciting 2WD A-final, Richard stamped his authority early and never looked back, leading the race from start to finish with his JConcepts BJ4we to take an impressive win ahead of Grant Williams in 2nd and Nathan Waters 3rd.

Full report to follow on oOple.
