Costa wins Final Portugese 1/8th National

Last weekend the final round of the Portuguese National Championship was run at the Sintra track in Lisbon. It was the first time a Shepherd Velox showed up at a track in Portugal and was also the debut 1/8th scale race for current 1/10th scale Champion Filipe Costa. He quickly got used to the car and was able to claim 2nd position after the qualifying. Because there are no direct qualifiers in Portugal all drivers had to pass the semi-finals to reach the main final and Filipe could win his semi final without any problems and secured himself pole position on the starting grid for the final. At the beginning of the final he lost the lead to Serpent racer Ricardo Nogueira but after 25 minutes he was able to take over the lead again and never lost it until the finishing line.

Pro-Line V3 Tires & Velocity wheels

Pro-Line have released the V3 versions of both the Bow-Tie and the Revolver, both of which are 4.6mm wider then standard versions. The added width adapts 1 more row of center lug Bow-Tie’s to the tire and 2 more rows of tread to the tire on the Revolver. Not only do the additional knobs create more traction but they also make the tire last longer. With the Bow Tie V3 the bumps seem to vanish as the additional center lug assist in keeping the car straight as you throttle out of corners and over those acceleration bumps, while with the Revolver V3 blue-groove tracks become increasingly easier to go the distance in those long mains or during those long practice sessions. To cater for the new tires, these Velocity V3 wheels are nearly 5mm wider than the V2 wheels, and they allow your buggy to transfer around corners more consistently and in a straighter line over the roughest parts of the track. The width of the wheel has been extended towards the inner part of the wheel, or center of the buggy, so track width integrity has been maintained.
